Janitor and CEO are Equals In the grand scheme of a business, the janitor and the CEO hold equal importance. Imagine a day when anyone else besides the CEO takes time off; the business continues to run smoothly. But if the janitor takes a day off without a replacement, the work environment quickly becomes uncomfortable and less productive. So why do we often overlook the vital contributions of our janitorial and maintenance crews? In a corporate setting, no one should feel they are above another. Everyone's role is crucial to the overall success and well-being of the company. When I worked in the aerospace industry, I didn't hesitate to swiffer the floors or help take out the trash. Yes, it was manual labor that I wasn’t hired for, but those small gestures go a long way. Having a degree does not excuse anyone from treating all members of the company with equal respect and dignity. To this day, I spend weekends cleaning the machine shop. Managers and corporate leaders need to lead by example, get to know the janitorial staff, include them in conversations, and ask about their goals and aspirations. My dad and I both started as janitors, and it means a lot when management or your boss checks in and shows they care. I encourage you to initiate conversations at work, as you will never know the experiences people have gone through and how they can even help with obstacles at work! #Leadership #Respect #Equality #CorporateCulture #Teamwork #Inclusion #JanitorAndCEO #LeadByExample

The Power of Play: Why Your Team Deserves a Day Off Your team members are the heartbeat of your organization—the driving force behind your success and impact. Giving them a day to unwind, share a meal, and embrace their playful side isn’t just a nice gesture; it’s essential for fostering a thriving workplace culture. Having spent four years navigating the corporate space—from think tanks to government ministries and NGOs—I’ve seen firsthand how many organizations neglect the importance of breaks and retreats. Some may want to implement team bonding sessions, but their HR departments are often too overwhelmed to organize them effectively. When they do plan gatherings, they’re frequently filled with PowerPoint presentations about company performance rather than focusing on team connection. However, research shows a strong link between team bonding activities and improved organizational performance. Engaging in fun, collaborative experiences boosts morale, enhances communication, and fosters a sense of belonging—ultimately leading to increased productivity. That’s where Fun Alley comes in. We create spaces for your team to relax, reconnect, and rediscover their inner child. Our mission is to take the pressure off HR and admin teams by providing seamless, engaging team bonding sessions that enhance collaboration and creativity. Ready to give your team the break they deserve? Book Fun Alley for your next team bonding event and watch your organization flourish!

It’s so easy to get caught up in keeping strict professional boundaries that we can sometimes forget that getting to know your team away from their desk can really help them feel connected to both each other and the team’s mission. You have a hard working team! But they don’t seem to know each other very well. As a leader, it’s up to you to create opportunities for your team to experience something new together or facilitate ways for them to get to know each other better. When you have a team that knows and supports each other, you have a team that can thrive in even the toughest challenges. There’s a picture that still sits on the shelf in an office showcase… a raft full of people in white rapids. That rafting trip was the first one the office went on and they had to not only conquer the fear of being in the raft, but had to also listen to a guide instruct them while making sure no one was left in the water or fell overboard. The trip started with lots of laughter, both nervous and excited, and was soon replaced with keen concentration as the guide instructed them on how to remain safe as they faced higher-than-normal rapids. Those who were more nervous or scared had to rely on those ready to be brave and act should the raft turn over. The relief as they successfully navigated the rapids and arrived at their destination was shared via high fives and hugs. The picture was proof they did something scary together and it was referenced anytime things got tough on the next project. This type of bonding lives on past the event. Build these moments for your team! #LeadershipChallenge #TheLeadershipChallenge #Bonds #Experiences #SharedExperience #TeamBuilding

How do you guarantee every frontline worker receives important company information? Leaflets! Roy’s ✨ gut feeling ✨ is that frontline workers ✨ love ✨ getting important updates on a folded sheet of paper. Because who needs data or employee feedback when you can just trust the instincts of a CEO who sits behind a desk all day, right? Swish! Now, be honest: What’s the craziest thing you ever did in the office when no one was watching? Dancing? Creative use of the copy machine? Office-chair racing? Spill your little workplace secrets! 🍵

Do you feel overwhelmed when starting big organization projects like cleaning the whole house? 🏡 One of our biggest tips is to organize by category, not by room! Some categories could be… • Clothes • Cleaning supplies • Kids' toys Doing things by category can help you get the job done faster *and* make you feel more accomplished as you go (rather than waiting for that big reveal at the end). If you're looking to save even more time, send us a DM! We look forward to organizing your chaos! 📨 #organizing #organizer #organizationquote #organizedlife #declutter #homeorganization #organizedhome #organizationtips #tipsfororganization #ChaosPros #NAPOPro #NAPODFW #ProfessionalOrganization

We’ve all been through these nightmarish, one-time, ‘someone thinks it’s going to be the magic bullet that gets everyone aligned’ events. I’ve heard it from peers, and we hear it from customers all the time, essentially: “we don’t have budget for everyone to have daily coaching because we just spent 6 figures on a 2 day leadership retreat” (or something to that effect). As an L&D and People Strategy professional I’ve constantly had to fight the thought that some leadership conference or retreat is going to “fix everything” and is worth a giant investment, but the other 360+ days a year are sort of left with… not much. We’re not magicians, and a singular event is not a magic wand. Yes, team building can be valuable. Yes, retreats can be helpful. But we also need to think about what’s best to reinforce what we’re doing in the day to day, and not just a couple days a year for a select few in the org.
Not only will you not get left at the top of a mountain, but Cloverleaf costs so much less. I am always amazed at the lengths and $$ that companies are willing to spend on big team building activities for a select few but won't spend a few dollars per employee to provide a year of personalized coaching to everyone in the company. Next time, skip mountain climbing adventure (although it does sound fun), and instead give your team something they really need. https://lnkd.in/gq5fcykz
