🌟👑 Honouring International Women’s Day 2024 but let’s talk about #blackandglobalmajority women👑🌟 In the tapestry of progress, International Women’s Day illuminates our path forward, a beacon guiding us toward #equality and #empowerment. I was honoured that #BRIG asked for my reflections. Whilst it is a great day for celebration, I could not help but consider that it is important to reflect, act, and elevate the voices that too often remain marginalised - those of black and global majority women. Let's not just talk about #inclusion but about #belonging for black & global majority women. It’s time to #breakbarriers, #amplifyvoices, and take #meaningfulaction. Together, let’s create a world where every woman feels valued, heard, and empowered. #Equity #BlackandGlobalMajority #IWD2024 Atif A. IF YOU ARE NOT PART OF A PERMANENT AND LASTING SOLUTION TO THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING CRISIS AND HOMELESSNESS, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM! THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX IS BROKEN AND NOT WORKING FOR AMERICAN TAXPAYERS Veteran Housing Corp would ask every TAXPAYER to demand and get answers from their elected and appointed government officials the below questions as they relate to any affordable, workforce, or supportive housing project in your community! 1. How much local, state, and federal funding, tax credits, or other government benefits or incentives did the project receive? 2. What is the affordability period for each project? Is the affordability period permanent and in perpetuity? 3. What guarantees exist have your local, state, and federal government officials obtained in writing that rents will not go up or that tenants will not be displaced or evicted after the "affordability period expires? Every local, state, and federal housing authority and affordable or workforce housing stakeholder should adopt the State of Vermont's "permanent affordability" policy as a model for all future government funded or subsidized housing projects or developments, no exceptions! https://lnkd.in/eFEUC8c8 Additionally, local, state and federal housing agencies should look to the Helsinki, FINLAND MODEL of ending homelessness by providing affordable housing for all 'It’s a miracle': Helsinki's radical solution to homelessness https://lnkd.in/er9HZSQU Even the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development AGREES THAT adopting FINLAND'S MODEL OF ERADICATING HOMELESSNESS may be of great value to resolving the affordable housing and homelessness crises in America https://lnkd.in/gkSZWYRU

On Saturday, March 23rd, 20 women, including myself, were named some of Miami's Most Prominent and Influential Black Women in Business and Industry for 2023 by Legacy Magazine. It was an honor to be recognized and to participate in the fashion show component, channeling my inner supermodels (Iman, Naomi, Tyra, Alek, Beverly and Pat) and showcasing the work of fabulous creatives. As a community development practitioner, I want to express my gratitude to Dexter A. Bridgeman, CEO and Founder of M.I.A. Media Group, for recognizing African American women and professionals on multiple platforms. I hope I can influence CRA officials reading this post to invest advertising dollars in this remarkable media platform that reaches millions monthly. The creatives, small business owners, and model coach all deserve our support. A special shout out to the designers, including @Komefashion, @Fitnessfinancialgains, @TanyaMarieTheDesigner, and The Limelight Collection from biomedical engineer Ebony Daniels Sanon. And a particular thank you to runway model coach Kareema Kaye Cox of The Kaye Cox Way who got the very best out of all of us in just three short weeks. Legacy MIAMI Prom Women Issue 2023

Jah & Jahes love. I wish that one of these women would adopt me or create a program for low-wealth and struggling black women. I have never, ever, benefitted from the philanthropy of any of these women. But, they reportedly give millions away each year in gifts and stuff. Blessed love.#1804#Ayiti#ToutMounseMoun#AbolishCPS#AbolishPoverty#DefundFosterCare#ProChoice#RawVeganforLife#HRES40NOW#NoNewOccupationofAyiti#ProChoice#BwaKale

Yes! Hell yes! Love this from Serena. Such a powerful response. Simply brilliant. And a reminder that (sadly) the fight for equality, be in gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation - the list goes on. Is ongoing. It can’t stop. #equality #diversityandinclusion #rolemodel
That’s a “no” from Serena Williams, in case it wasn’t clear. Yes, she’s one of the greatest tennis players of all time, but she’s also a role model who cares deeply about women’s equality and she’s not willing to back down from that—and isn’t that so refreshing? To see women in positions of influence and power leading with conviction. Women like this inspire me constantly!
