Today I am at the Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit. Some points expressed by the business leaders at the first panel resonate with me particularly, so I wanted to share them - I encourage everyone to view the recording after the event though! 1. Find a mentor - not an assigned one, find yourself someone you really trust and look up to. 2. Volunteer and take upon additional responsibilites. You can learn a lot and go very far through work outside of your regular role. 3. Don’t tie yourself to your chosen education. You can explore other industries and areas than the one you studied in university. 4. What matters is your ability to do the job, not your gender, not where you are coming from. Don’t let anyone take away your dreams - develop your skills and believe in yourself. 5. Women as business leaders are often empathetic, resilient to setbacks and adversity, transparent about their goals, and detail-oriented. We need more of us at the top! Nanssia Fragoudaki Aneta Legenza Magdalena Skorupa Dorota Strojkowska Anna Urbanska Magdalena Ostrogórska It is really inspiring to see so many women at every level of career, in all tech/business roles, at the conference! Looking forward to all the speeches and panels in the following days 💪💪💪

Thanks to everyone who showed up to talk about FOAK Collaboration yesterday! Dolly Singh and Julia Bunte-Mein were stellar panelists, thanks for your insights. I went to two other events yesterday, and one thing that really stood out was the number of women speaking. A panel on forging your path in climate tech featured four C-level women leaders, three of them founders. At an event on scaling FOAK companies, 9 of the 10 speakers were women. These folks were across all kinds of roles and companies, in VC, hardtech, direct air capture, talent, energy ... you name it. I often hear that it's hard to find women speakers in the climate space, but SF Climate Week is making it look easy. I didn't intend to have an all-women panel, but I'll share how it happened. 1. I reached out to a trusted friend and expert first - a man. He was traveling and unavailable. 2. Since my first outreach was a dude, I simultaneously prioritized finding one woman speaker. I didn't have the right people in my network, so I started reaching out to men I knew, asking to be introduced to women in their networks. It took no time at all to find someone awesome. 3. She introduced me to a friend. 4. Two other women contacted me out of the blue, and one ended up on the panel. The key thing was making the commitment to find *one woman* to speak. Everything else flowed from there. #sfclimateweek #foakcollaboration
