Over the years, social media has transformed from a space for casual connection to a platform for learning, growing, and finding inspiration. My journey began with Orkut—remember the joy of scraps and testimonials? Fast forward to today, I’m leveraging platforms like LinkedIn to engage meaningfully and build connections that matter. A decade ago, while working with Thomson Reuters, London, I evaluated social media policies for corporates. It was also part of my thesis for my Master's in Media and Creative Enterprise at Birmingham City University. That experience deepened my understanding of how structured guidelines can shape responsible and impactful interactions online. It also shaped the way I approach and engage with social media today at Cybage Software with my design team. When I look at my feed, I see more than just posts—I see life unfolding. Friends celebrating festivals, exploring hobbies, and cherishing joyful moments, even as challenges like loss, change, and struggles persist. Social media offers us a window into resilience, community, and self-expression. This Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to see social media as a friend—a space that inspires, connects, and empowers us in ways we often take for granted. Let’s shift the narrative. In 2018, I had a dream. I wanted to start an online business and build my personal brand. I was driven by the desire to balance income, impact, and independence. I wanted to create my dream life. And I knew that building an online coaching and education business was the right path for me. But there was a challenge. When I first started my journey, I wasn’t in a position to invest a lot of money. I was £20,000 in debt after trying to build a jewellery brand and an agency, and I didn’t know where to turn. I kept seeing ads for coaching programmes and courses that cost thousands—way out of my budget at the time. Then I came across a membership, and it changed everything. At just $49 a month, this membership offered unbelievable value. It gave me access to education, a supportive community, and the accountability I needed to start building my business and generating revenue. In that moment, I knew THIS was what I wanted to create. Yesterday I spent the day at an onsite/offsite with my leads, thinking about the future. :) As we look ahead to 2025, we're approaching Microsoft’s 50th anniversary—an opportunity for us to celebrate a bit all the accomplishments that got us here, but more importantly to think about the next 50 years. Stay tuned! As always, we grounded our planning broadly against three key areas. First, how do we continue navigating the changing nature of influence, and by so doing ensure we are reaching the people and organizations we care about most effectively? Second, how do we continue investing in trust as a core piece of all our storytelling? And finally, what are the stories we tell at scale about how individuals and companies are using the incredible new tools we're bringing to market in new and interesting ways? It can be hard to carve out big chunks of time as a leads team to get out of the present and re-ground in the themes and activities that will have the most impact, not tomorrow, but months from now! But it's incredibly rewarding (what a great/smart/funny group of people) and sets us up for long term success, whatever the world throws at us.

July 7th marks the anniversary at Noble Studios, and safe to say we have a 21 year old. But all jokes aside, I recently watched a video by Geoffrey Moore about his framework "Crossing the Chasm" that analyzes the entrepreneurial journey. It had me reflecting on our own path over the past 21 years. He talks about how in the first few years, landing a major client is crucial. Not only does it validate your business, but you also borrow credibility from that major brand in the eyes of other buyers. Once you have 5 out of 30 major brands in a category, everyone knows you've made it and wants to buy from you. For us, Autodesk was one of our first big clients in the Bay Area. Just 6 months later, we started getting calls from former Autodesk contacts who had moved on to Cisco, Intel, Google and other great companies. Shortly after that, we moved into our first office in Carson City and brought on team members. Then over the next 3-5 years, things really took off, offering digital solutions that only few others were doing at the time. After we landed all those clients, we really had to start developing processes, measurements, building out our management team and investing into making ourselves a real company. And looking back, what kept us thriving was: - Staying curious and continuously innovating, not just setting and forgetting - Genuinely caring about your people, customers and clients and building deep meaningful connections - Leading with a people-first culture where team members feel valued and empowered to help shape the company's direction So yeah, after 21 years, most entrepreneurial journeys follow a very similar path. But what keeps you on that path are those things like curiosity, great clients, good customer service, caring deeply, and creating that people-first culture. This summer, a friend asked me what I consider the start of the year, January or September. She's a teacher, so the answer for her is an obvious September. For me, it's January — the year's intentions are set and I've let go of hangovers from the last year. But this year September feels like a start. It's not a "new" start, but a refresh, a chance to renew my focus, make improvements and add to my portfolio of projects. I once worked in a company that drove sales through August, stressing the importance of not letting up. I once lived in Europe where no one worked in August, taking the time to enjoy the summer. In light of both, September is an important month. (For the record, I err on the preference of the latter!). To kick off this cycle, I am: --> Revisiting my intentions for the year to stay on track --> Undertaking training in Design Thinking with IDEO to upskill and reconfirm knowledge already in my arsenal, and to inform future offers --> Taking the time, through research and reflection, to find out how I can improve and put more time into the things that I am already doing As the summer ebbs away, I am welcoming this second start to the year.
