Women leaders in tech are leading the charge in GenAI adoption, outpacing their male peers in technical roles. However, women in more junior roles are falling behind. But what explains the differences in GenAI adoption? @Boston Consulting Group (BCG)’s analysis shows that it’s driven by awareness of GenAI’s criticality for future job success, confidence in GenAI skills, and a person’s tolerance for risk when their company’s GenAI policy is unclear. Read BCG’s full article for actions that both organizations and women can take to reduce the gender gap in the tech industry. https://bit.ly/4aBLLsE

Despite the rapid growth of #AI, the underrepresentation of women in this field remains a pressing issue. The reasons behind this #gap are complex, ranging from societal biases to a lack of mentorship. As highlighted in the article https://lnkd.in/dAQAxBcy: "Women are more likely than men to consider societal, ethical and political implications in their work on AI — which isn’t surprising considering women live in a world where they’re belittled on the basis of their gender, products in the market have been designed for men and women with children are often expected to balance work with their role as primary caregivers." Women in AI is an imperative not an option according to this article in Time which offers great advice on how women can use AI tools to advance their career and skill set. But we need more women involved in designing AI. “Who better to identify and correct gender bias in AI systems than those who have spent their lives recognizing and fighting it in human systems? Who better to ensure AI tools respect and protect women's privacy and dignity than those who have long fought for these basic rights? The solution to biased AI is not to abandon the technology but to flood it with women's perspectives, experiences, and values.” #womenandAI #genderbias #womenintheworkplace https://lnkd.in/grDYSVCV

..”artificial intelligence could become the most pivotal tool yet for advancing equality—or it could set us back decades. The choice depends on whether women (as well as anyone from marginalized backgrounds) are able to fully embrace and help shape the technology that is rapidly transforming our world. But as we sat with this remarkable icon in her home where countless leaders have shared their stories and planned for change, we confronted an uncomfortable truth: women are once again being left behind….” “But this is precisely why women's involvement in AI is not optional. It's imperative. Who better to identify and correct gender bias in AI systems than those who have spent their lives recognizing and fighting it in human systems? Who better to ensure AI tools respect and protect women's privacy and dignity than those who have long fought for these basic rights? The solution to biased AI is not to abandon the technology but to flood it with women's perspectives, experiences, and values.”
