Today we had the amazing opportunity to visit the Charlotte Museum of History exhibits and see the infamous Alexander Rock House. It was truly a remarkable experience, and we were grateful to have the chance to learn more about the Siloam School Project, Mary Cardwell Dawson, opera singer, and the National Negro Opera Company as well as tour the house. If you haven’t been, check out this wonderful place!

It's the first day of our On Tour!
We're at the Emerald/Harbour City, Sydney!
We'll make sure the home of the Opera house will be informed about the future of low voltage with the help of our guest speaker, René Jensen by the end of it.

In business, as in opera, a robust foundation is essential for success. Napoleon Hill captured it perfectly: 'The starting point of all achievement is desire.' As we start the week, let's align our desires with our goals and watch as doors open. #Motivation#SuccessMindset
👀 Have you seen this TEDxTalk on OPERA by OperaDelaware's VP of Engagement Kerriann Otaño?! 👀
Kerriann passionately explores how the traditional dialogue around opera can lead to gatekeeping, hindering its full impact on communities. Without joyful advocacy, opera risks being perceived as elitist and exclusive, deterring curious minds. At BLO, our 5 core values are Boldness, Collaboration, Connection, Learning, and Belonging. Kerriann speaks to each of these in her talk. One of our favorite takeaways is: "Where we believe we belong is where we show up." We believe that YOU belong at the opera.
More on her talk:
Opera is so much more than Viking horns and Valhalla. The traditional way that we talk about opera leads to gatekeeping and has limited our ability to see all that opera can mean to a community. Without joyful advocacy, opera's reputation for elitism and exclusivity will continue to drive away curious audiences. In this TEDxOldHickory talk, former opera singer and eternal Opera Hype Girl, Kerriann Otaño, talks about audience and artist advocacy through the power of authenticity. The connection between grief and gratitude, vulnerability and belonging, has played an important role in Kerriann Otaño's career shift from professional opera singer to Vice President of Engagement.

How do the respondents of our Limerick City Centre survey view the Developments taking place? 🏗
Opera Square, currently under development by Limerick Twenty Thirty DAC, was voted as the development with most city centre transformation potential.
However, general overall plans for the city are not seen in such a positive light, with 51% of respondents believing the overall plan for the city centre is not ambitious enough and worryingly 32% are not aware of any plans.
To see our recommendations to counteract these issues; read our document here: https://lnkd.in/ezGZjWm8
The Imagination Collaborative: To create a legacy of human connection through epic experiences that transcend expectations, blending creativity and cutting-edge technology | 35 Years In Live Events
The Sydney Opera House just missed a golden opportunity.
They recently launched a new seat view feature, but instead of using cutting-edge technology, they relied on outdated methods.
Imagine this:
Instead of taking thousands of photos, they could have used a digital twin of the venue. This would not only save time but also opened up exciting possibilities for their clients and customers:
- Set design optimisation: Visualise seats with set pieces in place to ensure perfect sightlines.
- Pre-programming capabilities: Program lighting, AV, pyrotechnics, and show control systems before even stepping foot in the venue.
- 3D audio analysis: Analyse sound patterns in a fully immersive 3D environment.
- Augmented Reality: Imagine seeing Dame Jone Sutherland performing on the Opera Theatre stage or seeing the Sydney Theatre companies set in place before it is even constructed.
- Virtual Reality: Create virtual tours of the Sydney Opera House for those people not lucky enough to be able to visit in real life.
The Opera House could have taken their service offering to the next level. Instead, they chose the path of least resistance.
Let’s hope they embrace innovation next time.
P.S. What other features do you think digital twins could revolutionise in venues? Comment below!
We pushed View From Seat live earlier this week, meaning you can make a more informed decision about your seat when booking your next show at the Opera House.
Photographs were captured with care and patience by Daniel Boud and Jay Patel, assisted by Sherry Zheng.
A big thanks to our team of Krystal Nolan, Colin Taylor, Luke Micó, Ben Grace, Paayal Dharmani, JK Power and Matt Osborn, all who played a key part in the project.
