Eager to start swathing? Here’s a tip! ✅ Don’t let the excitement of harvest or a potentially early-swathing neighbour throw off your plans to maximize your yield! Stick to your plan of waiting until your crop is close to or at 60% seed colour change and look forward to your increased yield reward for your patience. However… If your crop is ready to swath, our friends at Pioneer Seeds suggest you try to swath early morning or later into the evening, when temperatures are no higher than 22°C or 23°C, to prevent green lock and red seed. We are always humbled when our growers trust us to talk to their growers about soil and plant health. Our CEO was in the Granite Belt this week talking to a viticulturist about soil health and getting the most out of their current vines and future root stock that they are getting. Our award winning grower is known for supplying quality root stock nationwide. They wanted to provide an extra service and ensure that their root stock has the best possible chance for success.
