🌟 Wood Awards 2024 – It’s a Wrap! 🌟 What a year it has been for the Wood Awards! In 2024, we celebrated exceptional design and craftsmanship, with an impressive 33 shortlisted projects across both building and furniture categories. Each project showcased the incredible potential of wood as a medium for innovation, beauty, and sustainability. This year, we introduced the Sculptured Objects category in furniture, shining a spotlight on the artistry and creativity behind sculptural wood design. Led by Sebastian Cox Ltd, our new furniture judging panel brought fresh perspectives to the competition, reflecting the dynamic evolution of the design world. Our annual exhibition at Gallery@Oxo returned for its third year, in partnership with Material Matters, providing the public with an opportunity to experience the talent and creativity behind these remarkable projects. The year concluded with a fantastic awards ceremony, where we honoured the best of the best in wood design. A huge thank you to our sponsors: The Carpenters’ Company, American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), and Timber Development UK, for their invaluable support in making the Wood Awards a success. As we close out 2024, we’re already looking ahead to 2025! Stay tuned for the call for entries and exciting updates in the coming weeks. Thank you to everyone who participated, visited, and supported the Wood Awards this year. Let’s continue to celebrate the creativity, craftsmanship, and sustainability that make wood such a remarkable material. Full article here: https://bit.ly/3WdJdMU

While big ideas lay the foundation for creativity, it’s the smallest details that truly bring a design to life. From carefully selecting materials that evoke the right mood to thoughtfully refining layouts that optimize space and flow, every decision is a deliberate step toward creating something extraordinary. In our studio, we understand that design isn't just about aesthetics—it’s about function, too. It’s about crafting spaces where every element has purpose and meaning, and where every corner serves its role. Whether it’s the texture of a wall, the angle of a light, or the placement of furniture, we believe that precision in every detail transforms a good design into an unforgettable experience. We take pride in our meticulous approach to design—one that combines bold creativity with a commitment to the finest craftsmanship. At The Living Canvas, we are passionate about curating spaces that not only reflect the personality of the people who inhabit them but also enhance their daily lives, creating a seamless balance of form and function. It's in these details, where art meets practicality, that spaces transcend the ordinary and become something truly remarkable.

Excellent example of how #interiordesign can be a powerful tool for #storytelling and #brandidentity. I found this awe inspiring catalog of Aesop store interior designs. All very context specific, excellent and provocative in their simplicity and definitely thought provoking. Brilliant way of sparking interest, maybe curiosity and possibly luring potential customers in. You'd definitely want to learn and possibly appreciate product even more before purchasing. The story, and sensory experience at these stores is very much a huge part of the product. The product is not just a product.

Design isn’t just about filling a space—it’s about telling a story. That’s why we’re so in love with the Aurum Weave tile. It’s not just a surface; it’s a piece of art that carries a sense of history and connection. What makes it special? Its fabric-like texture, the way it plays with light, and how it can seamlessly work with more budget-friendly tiles to create something dynamic and unique. It’s proof that luxury doesn’t have to mean sacrificing practicality. We shared more about this in our latest blog—pattern ideas, design tips, and even a look into how Aurum Weave came to life. Take a look and let us know what you think. We’d love to hear how you’d bring it into your projects. 👉 https://lnkd.in/es_qFQZt #AurumWeave #LivableArt #InteriorDesign #CraftedSpaces
