Are markups from different disciplines stressing you out and jeopardising your deadlines? I have been talking to someone this week who is stressed out due to dealing with the many markups from checkers of different disciplines. This person works as a structural drafter in the heavy industrial sector. Apparently, the frustration lies in the fact that a drawing checker must be someone from a different discipline. As we know, different disciplines have different requirements for drawing presentations. And here lies the issue. Unnecessary markups cause delay, stress, needless back-and-forth, and the cost of a project's deadline. The solution, it seems, is to have a discipline checker who knows the teams' plans and drawing presentations and can check the drawings using each discipline's lens. This would surely be more streamlined and create fewer issues, as noted above. Have you experienced the same thing? Is this just a heavy industrial thing? Is the system broken? Could anything be done better? #anjunapeople #civilengineering #structuralengineering #structuraldrafting

Hello #linkedIn Connections 🙂 Topic - Push pull props. What is a push-pull prop ? Aim of Push-pull prop. process of fixing push-pull props. Advantages of Push-pull props. Do's and Don'ts ...... 1. Push-pull prop :- It is a prop which is used to hold the panels. It props which is used to align the panel is called push-pull prop. 2. Aim :- The aim of Push-pull prop is to hold the panels and maintaining panels alignment. 3. Process :- It should be fixed at max 1200mm distance or one after another joint of the panel. It should be fixed at all opening points. The wooden packing should be given to the base of the jack. The drilling should be done diagonally (Through jack and wooden packing) and then only nailing should be fixed/Fixed. It should be only used to adjust the panel (To bring in alignment) upto +- 5mm. 4. Advantages :- Maintain alignment. Holds the panel in line. Helps to Adjust the panels. During concreting the panels will be in stable point. Less chances of lineouts. 5. Do's :- It should be fixed at all stopper points. Nailing should be done diagonally. Wooden packing should be provided below the prop. It is fixed one side of the wall only. It is fixed as per requirement and under supervision of the Aluform staff for good results. Don't :- Direct fixing of props. More use of jacks. Fixing oversize nails. Using to adjust 20 to 30mm +- providing in non required locations. Any thing else that I'm missing ????? Thank You !!!! #civil #civil3d #civil #civilconstruction #construcaocivil #construction #siteengineer #sitework #sitemanagement #siteengineer #formworks #formation #appriciation #honor #hiring #job #jobs #pune #mumbai

Rebar detailing is often perceived as easy, but in reality, it is far from it. However, with practice and experience, one can master it. Achieving good detailing with a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of elements typically requires a minimum of two years. A proficient detailer must consider: 1. Design requirements 2. Fabrication practices 3. Transport difficulties and limitations 4. Site practices Detailers need to refer to all structural, architectural, MEP, civil, and landscape drawings, along with RFIs, ASIs, and revision documents, even for estimation purposes. - Structural drawings are essential for understanding member dimensions and reinforcement details. - Architectural drawings provide all dimensions, elevations, floor drain details, CMU partitions, etc. - Mechanical drawings are crucial for equipment pad dimensions and penetrations. - Plumbing and electrical drawings are necessary for pipe and duct penetrations. - Civil and landscape drawings offer information on grade elevations and miscellaneous site work items. If there is any contradiction between these drawings, it is the detailer's responsibility to resolve it. Often, we seek clarification from engineers in shop drawings, only to be referred back to architectural or civil drawings. Waiting for RFI responses, engineer markups, or answers to queries can take many days, but the responses often come with high priority or urgent requirements. If changes are required by the customer, site, fabrication, or due to structural or architectural revisions, the detailer must complete them urgently and with high accuracy in a short timeframe. If any error or issue arises, the detailer is typically blamed for not collecting and confirming the details that caused the error. When detailers raise numerous RFIs for clarification, they are often instructed to make the best assumptions and complete the job. Yet, if errors occur within those assumptions, they are blamed for not raising enough RFIs. Rebar detailing is indeed a very tough and challenging job! #RebarDetailing #ConcreteConstruction #StructuralEngineering #SteelReinforcement #ConstructionDetailing #CADDesign #BIMModeling #Building Codes #ConstructionDrawings #SteelDetailing #ConstructionIndustry #Building Structures #ConstructionTech #RebarDesign #ConstructionStandards
