We will undertake a light detection and ranging (LiDAR) survey at our Lĺtio Niobium Project in Paraiba State in Brazil, covering 1600 hectares. The survey aims to provide high-resolution imagery and a detailed 3D topography model to help define new, priority exploration targets, following successful initial sampling that revealed high-grade niobium, tantalum, and rare earth elements. The survey is expected to be completed in the current quarter and results will be released when available. Managing Director Mena Habib said, “The LiDAR survey represents the next stage in our systematic exploration and appraisal of the Lltio Project. It provides an excellent, cost effective method to help identify and define exploration targets within the Project area. The data generated by the survey is expected to identify pegmatite trends within the Project area and allow for detailed mapping of the survey area. This is is incredible. How many of our ancestors involved in extracting resources from the land would be enthralled by a video like this? Digitizing our world makes it easier to understand and use it more productively. For pretty much the same reasons, we are digitizing many aspects of ourselves - through AI and other means. Our likenesses, creative output and cognitive abilities are now all largely storable and replicable in the digital realm. But what are the risks? Will we be neglecting the deeper, unmappable and non-digitizable aspects of both nature and what it means to be human? Will we need to leave more space and affirm the inherent value of our humanity, which strikes me as critical as we use new technologies to shape our lives and the lives of future generations?
This scan of a 500m x 500m open pit mine was captured in just 9 minutes by Emesent Hovermap mounted to a drone. Being able to see the shells of the pit in reality rather than just from design helps life-of-mine planning departments when comparing the plan to as-built. The scan was colorized using the GoPro MAX 360 camera and processed and rendered in Emesent Aura.
