What does innovation mean to you? It’s not the same as invention, although they are often conflated. For me innovation is eclectic, gathering disperate thoughts and beliefs together… spotting synergies and adjacencies that lead to a novel and useful outcome. It’s only an innovation when value is delivered, otherwise it’s just talk. Driving innovation is hard and can be quite unpopular, you need stickability and belief. This concept is just too beautiful.

Marketing isn't just about backing the right horse (having a perfect product), but about understanding the racetrack, other horses, the weather, the trainers, the crowds. But no one wants to study those things or invest in the accoutrements of the horse race of marketing; they want to know/believe they have a winning horse. Period. In the end, businesses are run by people, so it is PERSONAL, meaning that all of the yearning for attention and praise that is the folly of individuals, becomes the function of their business animus. They can't help it. But if they pulled their head out of their horse's ass, they could see a lot more of the actual playing field, but since all they have is the horse, and all they think they can control is the horse, all the money goes into making a SUPERHORSE, not learning how to win the race. Having financial backing is essential in top level sport. Seeing this investment in the top series of electric motorsport is excellent. But there is a need for funding like this to reach down and support the development of the junior electric ladder. A pathway must be paved for young drivers who choose to prioritize electric motorsport and aim to become the future generation of world championship drivers.
