Behind every piece of equipment on a job site, there are mechanics that have kept it running. It's one of the jobs you might not immediately think of when you think construction, but after you look around a jobsite you'll realize just how many pieces of machinery are there, and each and every one of those needs scheduled maintenance, as needed repairs, and sometimes complete rebuilds. That's what folks like the @heavyequipmentech are up to every day. And the average heavy equipment technician, according to the BLS earns roughly $60,000 per year, but as you get more experienced start including overtime hours or promotions into more managerial roles you can start getting into the six-figure range. More Intentional Employee Misclassification Games...... Today's crooked company is AMR Redlands. A Global Medical Response company. AMR Redlands has an ad for a "Supply Service Technician" that manages daily inventory and works with the teams to insure ambulances are stocked and ready. They clearly state twice that it a contract position. https://lnkd.in/ggf8rGid Going to the Redlands AMR office each day, being told what vehicles to stock and service sure sounds like an employee! FirefighterOvertime.org has an article about AMR being sued for misclassifing paramedics and emt's and not paying overtime, etc., in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, in US District Court, Colorado. The law firm is Nichols Kaster, PLLP. I wonder if this is another case of California Department of Industrial Relations labor standards enforcement looking the other way and the Governor & Legislature not making sure the DIR Directors are doing their jobs, hiring enough staff to make sure California labor laws are enforced and people not taken advantage of? Shame on AMR. They obviously know better.
