On December 10, 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in response to the atrocities committed during World War II. This landmark global pledge outlined for the first time fundamental human rights to be universally protected, regardless of race, nationality, sex, religion, or any other status. It was the first international treaty to recognize the inherent dignity and worth of all human beings, and it is the most translated document in the world. Today, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights! #HumanRightsDay #HumanRights75

Today, as we commemorate Juneteenth, we honor a pivotal moment in our history—the day when the last enslaved individuals in the United States learned of their freedom. This day is not just a celebration of emancipation but also a solemn reminder of the long road to true freedom and equality that still lies ahead. Juneteenth marks a significant victory in the fight against the deep-seated injustices of slavery. Yet, it also serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battles against modern forms of bondage, including human trafficking. This heinous crime continues to affect millions around the world, stripping individuals of their freedom and dignity, much like slavery did over a century ago. As we reflect on the profound significance of Juneteenth, we must also reaffirm our commitment to ending all forms of human exploitation. The abolition of slavery was a crucial step, but our journey is far from over. Human trafficking remains one of the most severe global issues of our time, demanding our attention and action. Let us draw inspiration from the resilience and courage of those who fought for freedom and carried that message of freedom on Juneteenth to ensure ALL people knew that they were free. Let us channel that same energy and relentless determination into the fight against human trafficking, ensuring that freedom and justice are not merely ideals, but realities for ALL. #Juneteenth #freedomforall #eradicatinghumantrafficking

As we approach Juneteenth, let us not only reflect on the terror that darkens the pages of our nation’s storybook. Let us also celebrate how the bravery and resilience of our ancestors led us to the freedoms known in our country today. Acknowledge that through slavery, deferred freedoms, and ultimately the continued fight for civil rights, the true essence of America is found. May this federal holiday serve as a reminder that the legacy left for each of us enjoying these freedoms is to continue driving peaceful discussion and demanding change that disrupts ‘societal norms’ or policy that otherwise revoke equality for all. #Juneteenth #blacklivesmatter #representationmatters #supplierdiversity #dei

This piece has some very interesting thoughts on the word "Indigenous"
“'Indigenous'” and 'settler' are not identities or awards or punishments—they’re labels describing relationships within positionalities of power.“ Essential read, from Daniel Delgado published by Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg https://lnkd.in/gQEj7gqV

We are a politically and religious independent association consociated member of the Norden Association, Föreningen Norden. Norden International is working to assembly and increase communications, collaborations, contacts, and knowledge exchange, between individuals, groups, organizations, and communities, within and between the individual Nordic countries, as well as outward, within the EU and the world. The association strives to mobilize forces in the civil society who cherish democracy and the rule of law, to galvanize dialogue, in order for civil society to mobilize and organize itself and shield the civic society’s expressions. The association works to spread knowledge and formation regarding democracy and human rights in order to create opinion and to protect and empower democracy. Further, we promote the Nordic collaborations and mainly work in an international environment, outwards from the Nordic countries rather than within the Nordics. Our ambition is also to transmit reactions regarding the Nordic relationships and the collaborations homewards, from the international environment. We strive to collaborate with other movements, and we stand behind the international conventions expressed I the United Nations’ Declaration on Human Rights, along with the Council of Europe’s Convention on Human Rights and fundamental rights.

Today, we commemorate #Juneteenth, a pivotal moment in American history and the long and painful era of enslavement. Though the Emancipation Proclamation took effect on January 1, 1863, ostensibly freeing those enslaved in Confederate States, Juneteenth marks the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reaching the most distant corners of Confederate territory with Union troops arriving in Galveston Bay, Texas on June 19, 1865. Meanwhile, the Thirteenth Amendment would still be necessary to end slavery throughout the United States. Juneteenth is a celebration of #emancipation, #resilience, and the enduring spirit of the African American community. It's a day to reflect on the progress made and the work still needed to achieve true #equality and #justice in all aspects of life, including healthcare. We honor this day at PACE Healthcare Capital and reaffirm our commitment to invest in solutions that promote health equity and better ensure quality healthcare for all. Together, we can build a more inclusive and just healthcare system.
