HR professionals are dedicating a significant amount of time to supporting line managers with employee relations matters, with findings from esphr from WorkNest revealing that a minimum of 2-3 hours per week is spent on this task. The study of over 700 line managers and 500 HR professionals highlighted that one fifth of HR professionals invest six or more hours weekly in this support role. The research also delved into the confidence levels of line managers in handling ER issues, showing that more than half of them (52%) rely on HR every time there is an ER matter. Among these, 66% expressed discomfort in managing such situations independently.
