WHAT IS A GOOD PURPOSE GOING INTO A DIFFICULT CONVERSATION? As much as we want to justify our side/ story/ position in a difficult conversation, how much weight or space do we give to the other to share theirs? We need to, otherwise it is highly unlikely any solutions or outcomes will be sustainable. (See video) Great to facilitate QBE on Navigating Difficult Conversations in the Workplace. Fabulous participants & insightful contributions- thanks for having me! 🙏🏼😊⭐️ (See feedback below ⬇️) #difficultconversations #training #insurance

Radical Transparency. That is one of the core values of my agency and perhaps the most important one. In fact, I don’t think any insurance agency can operate in the right way without transparency. But why not only transparency as a core value, why does it have to be radical? Well to me, I'd like to be so transparent with prospects and clients, that it surprises them. Everyone expects agents to do what’s best for them. I want people to know right off the bat that I’m there for their best interest, not mine. This establishes open and honest communication from the get-go. That’s important because to properly provide coverage, I also need complete honesty from prospects and clients. Once that trust is established, a real business relationship can begin. But radical transparency isn’t only for clients. It’s important to our agency internally as well. If I'm transparent with my team, so they see the good, the bad and the ugly, I can better prepare them to make the best decisions for our clients. I can’t imagine my career, agency or even my life without radical transparency. It allows me to be me, without any sort of cover. What clients see and hear from me is the truth. Whether it benefits me or not. That type of transparency is what builds long term relationships, which is what builds my agency, which is how I leave a legacy. #riskmanagement #clientexperience #buildingtrust #authenticity #transparency #radicaltransparency #insuranceindustry #insuranceagent

Why you should work with a trusted advisor. Many leadership teams we work with believe it’s best to stick with the same insurance carrier year after year for the sake of longevity. This advice, often passed down by prior consultants, may sound logical, but it’s actually a myth. The truth is, you’re better off working with an advisor who evaluates your insurance program annually to ensure it aligns with your current state of the business and future needs. Here’s why: 1️⃣ Maximizing Value: As your insurance partner, our mission at Virtus is to deliver the best possible value to you. By exploring different options every year, we ensure you’re not missing out on better coverage or more competitive pricing. 2️⃣ Market Dynamics: Insurance carriers are often publicly traded companies driven by shareholder value. Their business goals, underwriting strategies, and levels of aggressiveness can vary significantly from year to year. What was a good deal last year may not be the best option today. 3️⃣ Economic Factors: Changing interest rates and market conditions impact how insurance carriers underwrite and structure their plans. By reviewing your program annually, we can adjust your funding structure to align with the latest economic environment. At Virtus, we believe in going all out every year with our marketing efforts, turning over every rock and exploring every option. This approach ensures that you, our clients, always receive the best possible coverage at the most competitive rates. #Insurance #RiskManagement #Leadership #BusinessStrategy #ValueDriven

In the insurance world, relationships are the bedrock of success. Building trust and credibility with clients, colleagues, and carriers is key. But there's a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Picture this: you're at an industry event, ready to shine. Instead of just showcasing your achievements, focus on making others feel valued. Ask thought-provoking questions, show genuine curiosity, and acknowledge their contributions. When your mentors and superiors feel appreciated, they’ll champion your successes and open doors for your growth. #NetworkingSuccess #InsurancePro #BuildTrust #ProfessionalGrowth #MentorshipMatters

What's keeping insurance sales managers up at night? I shared last week the main challenges that kept coming up in conversation with insurance company leaders at Insurtech a few months back. What about the front line managers? We ran a survey to Sales Managers in the Insurance industry asking them about their key challenges. You can see the high level insights below. A common theme across both company leaders and front line managers is a focus on keeping morale high and work fun. Ultimately to keep staff engaged, productive and staying in the business. Surprised to see these responses? If you're interested in more insights from this survey let me know and I can send them over. #insurance

People deserve insurance that keeps pace with emerging risks. Easier said than done, and yet, my team has delivered innovative insurance value year after year with the same approach: We make the investment in constructing a fertile environment for creativity and use long-term business goals as direction as well as guardrails. Real-world data and considered implications are the materials my team uses to construct an environment that helps us challenge linear thought. Resources and capabilities are the materials my team uses to build value – products, services, and interactions – and innovate on the support American Family Insurance offers people in the face of loss. Our approach is consistent, but our path flexes around the unique objectives and resources of each project. Design is a practice, not a process.
