One of the most common problems when working with a software agency? Misunderstanding the financial aspect 💵 Most agencies work with two pricing models: fixed price and time & material. The second is usually preferred due to its flexibility for both sides. 💡 The fixed price model is relatively easy to calculate. Look at your financials and see if it fits into your budget. 💡 Time & material, however, isn't that simple, and this is where confusion often arises. Clients typically see the developer's hourly rate, multiply it by 168 (full-time engagement in hours), and treat it as the final monthly cost. Here's why it doesn't work that way: 👉 Clients don’t pay for developers’ vacations. 👉 Clients don’t pay for national holidays. 👉 Clients don’t pay for sick leaves. 👉 Clients don’t pay for developers' education. 👉 ... All the training, benefits, and time off are covered by the agency, making the actual monthly costs, compared to hiring in-house, 20-30% lower (depending on the region) than the rate that clients see. Working with the agency on a time & material basis could be a real game changer for companies struggling to find talent or seeking expertise. Especially in a remote world 🌍
