#TradiesHealthMonth Tradies working in construction and service industries often transport welding or cutting gases to site. It is important that safety measures are taken when transporting dangerous goods. This includes: ➡️ securely restraining gas cylinders in an upright position on the back of the ute or tray top ➡️ closing cylinder valves, remove regulators, use safety caps and vent all gas hoses ➡️ not smoking in or near the vehicle ➡️ not covering cylinders with a tarpaulin ➡️ removing cylinders from the vehicle before using them ➡️ carrying a fire extinguisher in the vehicle. Use extinguisher for the fire they may result from the gas fire. The gas cylinders should be cooled to stop a BLEVE and then isolate the gas source.
