Spotlight Series: There’s strength in great culture 💪
As we delve further into our spotlight series, we’re taking a look at how learnd’s culture sets us apart with our Talent and Culture Director, Aimee McGovern.
Aimee joined learnd as part of the Aimteq acquisition in 2020, where she had been onboard since 2017. As someone who experienced the transition first hand, she jumped at the opportunity to help shape learnd’s culture alongside Co-Founder’s John Clifford and Simon Wood.
When it comes to creating a great place to work, Aimee and her team work to ensure all of learnd’s team members have what they need when it comes to the way they work, the work they’re doing, and taking care of their wellbeing.
It’s also about creating a culture of work and play by encouraging employees to connect with each other, and providing that opportunity as part of the job through our annual learndfest.
By centering people in the organization, taking care of them, and encouraging personal and professional growth, learnd empowers our team to bring their full selves to work. As a result, we can retain our talent and knowledge, helping us push even faster towards our goals of achieving net zero.
When asked about learnd’s culture, Aimee had this to say:
“The reason I stay with learnd is because we are so fundamentally focused on the people. What really sets us apart is we ask people whether they are interested in what they are working on and we want people to really connect with the work to get the best outcome. Because we are growing at such a rapid rate, there is constantly new opportunities and new space for people to really take their careers into their hands and make of it what they want.”
