𝗙𝗶𝘁 𝟰 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 Manny (Mansoor Sarvari) is collaborating with the team at Fortescue Solomon to deliver the Fit 4 Life challenge. As part of this initiative, following Health Screening and Health Coaching, WFR conducts Action In Motion (AIM) at the project's halfway point. AIM focuses on manual handling techniques to ensure safer work practices. Our Exercise Physiologists observe team members during their regular tasks to assess risks and implement best practices to reduce injuries and fatigue. For instance, one worker's task involves high-pressure washing of Haul trucks before inspection and servicing. This worker has reported discomfort in both upper and lower limbs due to repetitive movements and awkward postures. After discussions, our Workplace Wellness Specialist demonstrates the stance to the worker for improved movement techniques to minimise negative impacts on the body for them to work on during their work activities. With each example the process includes several steps: Observation: Assessing the worker's current techniques. Pre-Demonstration: Identifying areas of concern and discussing them with the worker. Education: Teaching the worker about the impacts of improper techniques. Demonstration: Showing the correct techniques to perform the task. Post-Education AIM: Reinforcing the new methods and providing additional tips. The accompanying pictures illustrate these steps from observation to post-education AIM. Following these assessments, WFR designs follow-up conditioning exercise programs to support the necessary movements and reduce risks. After participating in the Fit 4 Life challenge, the worker reported feeling stronger and more stable, demonstrating the effectiveness of the program.

🌱 I assist HR leaders to Heal, cultivate #selfawareness, and strengthen inner resilience to win the war on #incivility. #workplacewellbeing #healer #massagetherapist
From day one of learning Massage Therapy, when I'd initiate with a potential massage client, I was always getting some sort of resistance or dismissal, but eventually there was pure acceptance. If I asked you, "Is everything going well," how would you respond?" 😢Would you think of the first problem you're facing? 🌦Would you bring up the weather? Or...Would you just say,🤷🏿♂️ "Everything is going Well." How can there be a simple way to understand how someone feels, at any given time? Superpower: I'm able to do my wellbeing assessments within my conversations mainly because the wellbeing of others are always on my mind. And In some unimaginable ways, even to Me. 😅 Having an hyper-intentional assessment of health and wellbeing can provide a ton of interesting insights into so many of the workforce's health and well-being efforts. And 99% of the time, ancient Healing practices are effectively the compass to be able to see the insight. When I going deeper into uncovering different dimensions like physical health, mental and emotional well-being, work-life balance, etc, my wellbeing assessments can shed a bright light on areas where people are thriving and areas where they may need some support. This is intuitive data that could then be analyzed to better find solutions for targeted wellness initiatives and realizations that effectively balances an employee's needs and naturally supports a proactive culture of wellbeing in the workplace. P.S. We need to be ready for any threats to our Quality of Life, and when we can weather that storm, that's when Nature can run it's course.

Time for another Wellness Wednesday where we focus on improving wellness for healthcare employees. This week, we're talking about resilience trainings. Resilience training programs tailored to healthcare providers and administrators teach vital skills for managing stress, maintaining work-life balance, and fostering personal resilience. These programs include techniques such as mindfulness, stress reduction exercises, and cognitive behavioral strategies to help providers stay calm and focused, ensuring they perform better under pressure. Balancing a healthcare career with personal life can be challenging, but resilience training emphasizes setting boundaries, time management, and self-care practices. Healthcare workers learn to prioritize tasks, delegate, and take time for themselves, preventing burnout and ensuring long-term satisfaction. Additionally, these programs enhance communication skills and build a supportive community, leading to stronger team collaboration and improved patient interactions. Helping your team build resilience gives them the tools to advocate for their own wellbeing throughout their career!

I'm increasingly getting requests for facilitation rather than training. Might be facilitating a wellbeing strategy day, or an employee forum or two. I was discussing with Juliana Bley at EHS Congress Berlin that this requires me to "give up" that my value is in knowledge delivery which I can nicely hide behind, and look at how I create the right space for people. Increasingly, as people get more knowledgeable about the basics of mental health and wellbeing, I see myself moving into more of an enquiry space with groups. Why do I as a human being continue to act in this way or that way, which is detrimental to my wellbeing? What do we as an organisation do really well when it comes to creating an enabling and empowering environment and what do we suck at? Juliana introduced me to a lovely little app called LISA - anyone else use it? It is full of exercises you can use in your team. Often it is very straightforward stuff - for example the "Speedboat exercise" just names challenges and opportunities anchors and propellors for example, but just creates a slightly different, more fun context. Anyway I recommend you download it from the app store- it is free. Image from the Rose, Bud and Thorn exercise 😍

Time to awake !!! Arise and Act !!!! Prevent the disease before knock your door !!!!! Employee and teacher wellness programs benefit both individuals and the organization. For employees and teachers, these programs promote physical health, reduce stress, improve morale, and enhance work-life balance. This leads to increased productivity, engagement, and job satisfaction. From the corporate perspective, investing in wellness programs can result in lower absenteeism, reduced healthcare costs, higher retention rates, and a more positive workplace culture. Ultimately, prioritizing wellness demonstrates that the organization values its employees and recognizes their holistic well-being as essential to overall success. An employee and teacher wellness program could encompass various initiatives tailored to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This could include fitness classes, mindfulness workshops, counseling services, healthy eating programs, stress management techniques, and ergonomic assessments for workspaces. It's important to tailor the program to the specific needs and preferences of the employees and teachers to ensure maximum participation and effectiveness.

"Like greenwashing, wellbeing washing is when a company focuses more on appearing to care about wellbeing than they do on actually taking care of their employees. A recent study by Claro Wellbeing found that more than a third of employers are wellbeing washing." "While 7 in 10 workplaces celebrate mental health awareness days, only 3 in 10 offer mental health support deemed "good" by their employees. While stats like this make it easy to be cynical about a company's intentions, wellbeing washing isn't necessarily deliberate." "You can’t manage what you can’t measure. If you want to deliver an effective workplace wellbeing strategy, you’ll need meaningful insights. Anything else is just guesswork." Let us point out: All Wellness Orbit online training sessions incorporates a self-evaluation test at both the commencement and conclusion of the program. The progress of each trainee is meticulously assessed throughout the training, ensuring a personalized and effective learning experience. Our ultimate goal is to deliver tangible results that enhance your daily work life. https://lnkd.in/daVtJw3A #Wellness #WellnessWashing #WellnessInspiration #MentalWellness #ProactiveMentalWellness
