Heads of data (and their teams) being made redundant because the ROI isn't there Data business units on occasion being viewed as a 'nice to have' Sitting in stark contrast to the data-driven view a lot of other organisations are taking Which is why making sure you hire the right people into scaling data teams is critical to make sure they're here to stay When I work for my clients I focus my screening questions on: - the candidate's individual contribution to projects - do they understand why that mattered to the business - what were the commercial outputs (costs down, revenue driven) - what actionable insights were discovered & what value was created - how do they discover what stakeholder's need - track records of consistent delivery To ensure I send candidates who will be profitable for scaling data teams.
