The goal was to create a distinctive and cohesive visual identity that would reflect the cultural richness of Rwanda's film industry, attract international filmmakers, and position Rwanda as a prominent destination for film production and creativity. The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) is a government agency responsible for promoting and facilitating investments in Rwanda. With a focus on various sectors, including tourism and creative industries, RDB identified the potential for growth in the film sector and sought to establish the Rwanda Film Office to stimulate local and international film production. Project Objectives: - Cultural Representation: Capture the essence of Rwanda's diverse culture and heritage in the visual identity. - Global Appeal: Develop a brand that resonates with both local and international audiences, positioning Rwanda as an attractive destination for film production. - Versatility: Create a flexible and versatile brand that can be adapted across various mediums, from digital platforms to print materials and promotional merchandise. The Rwanda Film Office's new brand identity successfully captures the spirit of Rwanda's rich culture while maintaining a modern and professional appeal. The versatile design allows for seamless integration across diverse mediums, establishing a consistent and recognizable visual presence. The brand is poised to enhance the country's image as a competitive player in the global film industry, attracting filmmakers and investors alike. Collaborating with Candi Digital on this project was a rewarding experience. The new brand identity not only reflects the vision of the Rwanda Film Office but also contributes to the broader goal of positioning Rwanda as a thriving hub for creativity and film production. I picked up the call, they said it was urgent... (just 24 hours left) A few months back, one of my clients who owned a hotel chain in Mumbai organized a Food event. And I was designated as an Event Branding Designer and my responsibility was to ensure that all designs and visuals met the event's requirements. Everything was rolling smoothly and all tasks were completed ahead of schedule, everyone was excited for the event. But unexpected shock – a call from the event manager, one day before the big day. He said "Deepak, we need a billboard design urgently. Can you pull it off?" (I was not expecting this at all) Caught off guard, I took a deep breath, reminding myself that I was the go-to person for all things branding. I asked them to shoot over the requirements, and without wasting a moment, I dove into the challenge. Designing a billboard involves considering various factors, such as: ↳ Choosing high wavelength colors for better visibility. ↳ Typography alignment for better readability. ↳ Attractive visuals to grab attention. ↳ Creative CTA placement. ↳ Psychology. Five intense hours later, the design was ready, and I hit send. The client's response? Pure joy. Here's how I managed to complete this significant project within a tight timeframe: ↳ I remained calm ( most important) ↳ I divided the task into smaller, manageable parts. ↳ I sought the assistance of other designers to work collaboratively. ↳ I maintained constant communication with the client. ↳ I eliminated distractions to stay focused. ↳ I cooperated effectively with team members. ↳ I remained calm ( most important) P.S. From my first interaction with the MPM Products Ltd team, they’ve been a brand I’ve wanted to work with, after all, their products are always in my house to keep my pooch happy and healthy! Across 4 shoot days, we captured 140 images and created enough content to deliver 118 video assets that they could roll out across both the UK & US markets. It was great to hear that not only did we manage to get a huge amount of assets out of the production; but the content performed exceedingly well too with 3x better performing CTR on the motion ads. All of this was made possible using a more strategic approach to production; something we’ve just launched a guide on, to help brands & agencies better prepare for shoots to make the most of their production spend. Huge thank you to the entire team that brought this project to life and to our wonderful clients that gave us the opportunity to work on the piece.
