A manufacturing company was trying to hire a Salesforce Developer. We found them a few that they really liked, and they made an offer to one of them. But that developer had already accepted a job with another company. A lot of times this would mean starting the search from scratch. Wasting a lot more of management’s time and waiting to start critical projects until they got the right person on board. But we’ve seen this situation before. So we had B & C candidates - who were just as qualified - ready to go. We keep talking to everyone on the short list, even when it looks like the job might go to someone else. Because so often, it doesn’t. And we want the companies we work with to get a great Salesforce professional on their team even if their first choice takes an offer elsewhere. But if you don’t stay in touch with those 2nd & 3rd place candidates. If you don’t keep communication open… Then if you do need to reach out to them. They’ve probably taken another job, too.

Given the complexity and high demand for Salesforce expertise, especially in roles that require managing complex implementations and leading teams, this rate seems significantly below industry standards. It’s concerning to see that third-party vendors are often acting as middlemen, offering subpar compensation while charging clients high rates. This not only undervalues the expertise of real professionals but also impacts the quality of work delivered to clients. As Salesforce professionals, we invest a lot of time and effort in honing our skills and obtaining certifications.
