The World Central Kitchen team in Ukraine is safe after our clearly marked armored aid vehicle was struck by a Russian drone equipped with an explosive device near Oleksandrivka. Thankfully, no injuries are reported. Humanitarians should never ever be a target of war. Read our full statement here: https://lnkd.in/ew6ck_kZ
Russia is of no use to a civilized world. Glad y'all are okay. Hopefully they'll run out of military aged men eventually as it seems the war will continue otherwise. Out of 800 years, Ukraine only got to enjoy (mostly) freedom for a very short period before this.
WCK staff are just the most brave people delivering aid to the less fortunate GOD BLESS each and everyone of them and may they stay safe during their working endeavours. GOOD to hear this senseless attack was casualty free 🙏
WCK volunteers face violence and war crimes from both Russian and Israeli forces in their mission to provide much-needed aid. I salute these volunteers who risk their lives to lift up Ukrainians and Palestinians.
Israel has been left unpunished after purposely targeted humanitarian organisations in Gaza, so it creates a new normality in modern “wars”.
Starvation is a war weapon used for a long time in every war and Russia has been using it anytime anywhere. WCK is a very powerfull tool against starvation and this is the reason why they are an objective in any conflict. I have been collaborating with WCK in Barcelona serving meals to Ukranian refugees who where sent to Barcelona and the crude and scaring experiences that they told, makes you realize of what is the real situation in Ukrania with hundreds of thousands of casualties in both sides where the death is everywhere anytime.
Sadly as a past humanitarian volunteer we must now seriously watch our backs when simply trying to help war civilians or refugees. These aggressive and sometimes murderous actions by these bad actors is inexcusable. Acts that should be prosecuted in courts with serious penalties if found guilty for the individuals and their countries. Volunteers please stay safe and I pray for all of you no matter where you are helping around the world.
Please continue to be safe and keep on doing your life saving work !! 🌈
Thankfully, everyone was okay. Great work you guys are doing! I always see WCF every time I go on a frontline visit and am encouraged that a big organization is taking such big risks to reach villages that many people don't. I visited a village near Oleksandrivka, Stanislav the other day, and the people were very eager for help. With new damage every time we go, your continued efforts are truly appreciated. Thank you for the amazing work you do! Peace for Ukraine!

3moIt was because of your work in Ukraine that I first heard about WCK, and then decided to donate to in the name of my grandmother. She was Polish from Tarnopol/Tarnopil, back when it was the eastern-most frontier of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Her best friend was Ukrainian, and was just as much a part of our family. Glory to Ukraine. Victory, peace and justice for all Ukrainians. 🇺🇦
