Fine-tuning small language models (SLM) to replace general-purpose large language models requires significant engineering effort. Tasks such as data collection, model iteration and evaluation, and deployment management are time-consuming for engineering teams. Built by Yulong Liu and Daiyi Yang, Empower’s auto fine-tuning (AFT) simplifies this entire process. With just 5 lines of code changes, AFT takes care of everything, including training data collection, SLM fine-tuning, evaluation, hosting, traffic management, and automatic model retraining.
