Join me on November 7. https://lnkd.in/eYdmTZZN To protect the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), as part of the 2023 DoD Cyber Strategy, ASA (ALT) has developed a pilot program called Next-Gen Commercial Operations in Defended Enclaves (N-CODE) to improve the cybersecurity posture while lowering the barrier for small-sized businesses to engage with DoD programs. N-CODE will assist small businesses in meeting the complexities associated with cybersecurity policies and regulations, lowering the barrier to participate in government contracts and improve secure collaboration and communication. The cloud environment will cover many of the controls necessary for the processing and storage of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). The pilot program will offer a low-to-no-cost option for small businesses interested in participating. 🔥   Day 2 Streak: Another exciting day of learning with TryHackMe on the   Cybersecurity 101  path! 🔐 Today, I tackled the   Search Skill room and learned the power of finding the right information – a must-have skill in cybersecurity. Did you know? 🌍 A quick Google search for “learn cybersecurity” gives around 600 million hits, while “learn hacking” returns over twice that! 😮 The goal of this room was to teach essential skills for gathering information: ✅   Evaluating Information Sources  🔎   Using Search Engines Efficiently  🚀   Exploring Specialized Search Engines  📑   Reading Technical Documentation  📲   Making Use of Social Media  📰   Checking News Outlets Here are some key takeaways:  1️⃣ Google Search Operators    Learning   search operators  helped me refine my searches for precise information. I practiced using operators like: -   “exact phrase”  📜 to find exact matches -   site:  🌐 to limit results to specific sites -   filetype:  📂 to find specific file types (like PDFs)  2️⃣ Specialized Search Engines  🌟   I explored some powerful search engines for cybersecurity, including: -   Shodan  🖧: Searches for Internet-connected devices (servers, routers, IoT devices). -   Censys  🔍: Focuses on Internet assets like hosts, websites, and certificates. -   VirusTotal  🦠: Scans files and URLs for malware, using multiple antivirus engines. -   Have I Been Pwned  📧: Lets you check if an email has appeared in any data breaches. It's a must to protect personal data!  3️⃣ Technical Documentation & Social Media  📚📱   Learning to read technical documentation and leveraging social media helps me stay updated with trends and spot potential security issues!  4️⃣ CVE & Exploit Databases  🔓   Finally, I learned about   Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE)  and   Exploit Databases  – powerful resources for cybersecurity research. ✨ Thanks to TryHackMe for making learning so engaging. 🚀 Successfully Completed a Cybersecurity Task! 🔐 Just finished working on a really exciting task of building a Password Strength Checker Tool as part of my internship! This tool analyzes password length, complexity, and uniqueness to give instant feedback to users on how strong their passwords are. Here’s what the tool does: ✅ Assesses passwords for security based on length, special characters, and patterns. 💡 Provides personalized feedback on how to strengthen passwords. 🔒 Ensures that common weak passwords or simple patterns are avoided.
