⌛️ A delay in diagnosis for Duchenne muscular dystrophy can lead to lack of proper support and incorrect treatments, which can potentially have life-threatening consequences. That's why World Duchenne Organization developed the White Paper ‘𝗡𝗲𝘄𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘄’. This document outlines our position on newborn screening for Duchenne, drawing from scientific advancements and the experiences of families. 🤝 This can support discussions on a national level to get newborn screening for DMD implemented.
