🌟 Did you know? The Youth Empowerment Fund, powered by the EU and the Big Six youth organisations, is supporting youth-led initiatives that tackle global challenges at the local level. 🚀According to the Global Youth Mobilization, Cycle 1 saw 10,400 applications from 178 countries, with 168 youth panellists currently reviewing projects to strengthen, heal, and sustain communities. That does not include the YMCA Network Solutions projects also under review. 💡 It's not just about ideas—it’s about action. #youthmobilize

When Sangu Mukawa Godefroy, a refugee changemaker, approached The Pollination Project with his vision for a community education center, our $1,000 grant helped turn that dream into reality. The Scorpion Control Center exemplifies how strategic micro-funding in human rights initiatives creates sustainable community impact. From remote operations, this refugee-led project now has a permanent hub offering educational programs and research opportunities, empowering an entire refugee community. This is what leadership in humanitarian grantmaking looks like: identifying passionate local leaders and providing the resources they need to create lasting change. Youth social action has the power to make a difference in communities for all people. UK Youth's Inspire project is a key example of this and certainly a Game Changer. It used national and local events as a springboard for young people to design positive activities for their own communities, bridging community divides and giving young people a voice. The only way to really understand how people experience a problem is to listen to the ones closest to it and to ask them how we can do better. - this statement summarizes it best; it reflects a deep understanding on the value of "contextual knowledge" in successful implementation of programmes, the use of 'global guidance' without 'listening to those closest' to problem your are trying to solve, is the reason for the cycle of development failures we experience in Africa ... Well done
