"I think media exposure for high school athletes has diminished in the last 10 to 15 years," said Greg Glasser. "So, for Gridiron to be able to continue this, at such a high level, is heartwarming to see.” #WOUBProud Ohio University Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University E. W. This semester, I am completing my Capstone in Digital Communication, Information and Media as I complete my minor. In this course I will be focusing on exploring how the world of sports journalism and media is evolving, whether it is for the better or worse. With advancing technologies such as artificial intelligence, it is important to understand what aspects of the industry have changed or will change in the near future. During this course I came across this article that focuses on the dying industry of sports journalism. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in sports journalism. #DCIMCapstone

Journalism and Media Studies Major with a Specialization in Global Media | Digital Communication, Information and Media Minor | Sport Management Minor
#DCIMCapstone As my last requirement for my Digital Communication, Information, and Media minor, I am completing my Capstone course. In this course, I have been assigned to choose a topic or issue related to the study of DCIM and compile research to include in the online blog that I will be creating. For my topic, I am focusing on how the digital age has transformed sports journalism. As a Journalism and Media Studies Major with a double minor in DCIM and Sport Management, I am fascinated to learn more about the intersection between these two subjects. This article by IU Bloomington delves into what exactly has changed about sports journalism over the years and how digital media has had an effect. It was a very interesting read and provided me with a lot of insight to get started on my project! https://lnkd.in/eqcCd6zi

So proud of my brother Sam Morshead for launching The Moonraker yesterday - bringing back sports journalism to how it was when local print thrived, but repositioned for the digital age. I know just how much passion he has for local sports journalism, and how much effort has gone into this launch. In his own words: "The aim is simple: to provide intelligent, articulate, engaging, community-centred content on a platform that is accessible and easily readable." You can check it out here: https://lnkd.in/eCw_M7KE

On the CTMT Substack, we're talking about the value of college journalism. We're seeing college journalists fill more gaps in providing local news, including breaking some big stories. Because everything to us at CTMT is all about trust, we're thinking about the role college journalists play in building trust in local news. https://lnkd.in/ezbYG5Z6
Student journalism is becoming more vital to local news, and colleges should recognize how important that is for trust-building
