Work in Property Pax Services at Colliers can get pretty intense, especially during peak times like now when multiple jurisdictions in Western Canada have #Pre_Roll negotiations going on and #Post_Roll hearings are also taking place. Deadlines, complex issues, and the pressure to deliver exceptional results can take a toll on even the best teams. That’s why it’s essential to hit pause—if only for a moment—and #recharge. Yesterday we took the team out for an axe-throwing session. It was a chance to step away from spreadsheets and valuations, clear our heads, and connect outside the office. Team building isn’t just about having fun—it strengthens communication, builds trust, and reminds us that we’re all in this together. When stress runs high, these breaks aren’t distractions—they’re investments in our well-being and performance. A focused, energized team is a productive one. I’m proud to work with a group that gives 100% every day—and sometimes, 100% means throwing axes too 😉 🪓🎯 Couldn’t imagine doing this job with out this awesome team: Saadiq Kassam, Hayley Chornoboy Smith, Jillian Clark, Laurence Trayhorn, Rina Rodriguez, Oksana Senyna & Alivia Kuehner #TeamBuilding #Colliers #ColliersCanada #PropertyTax #Assessmemt #WorkHardPlayHard #EmployeeWellbeing #StrongerTogether #AxeThrowing

Got a great gig but happen to be based somewhere off the beaten path? You’re not alone. We’ve seen it all—clients wanting top-tier talent but situated miles from the nearest barista. The good news? We know how to make the impossible happen. At March, we source top talent for remote and regional roles. And it’s not just about the job; we get that the right move involves more than a pay check. Family needs, schooling, community vibes—those are the deal-breakers, and we know how to get it right. Take a recent success: We relocated a Farm Manager to Northern NSW. It wasn’t just about selling the role, but the whole lifestyle. From finding the right school for their kids to ensuring the local community was a fit, we took care of the big (and little) things, so they could focus on the opportunity. Turns out, you can find the best talent, even in the most unexpected places—you just need the right strategy (and maybe a decent Wi-Fi connection). At March, we’ve got both. 👉️ https://lnkd.in/gHsj7TTs #StepForwardWithMarch #AgriRecruit #MarchTalentPartners #Recruitment #AgSector

I'm sharing this picture not just because its a cute photo but because it's a picture that was taken on a Tuesday and it makes me feel so lucky to have these moments. For those of you that don't know I don't work Tuesdays, out of choice and it's so I can spend time making memories whilst my daughter is young. Being self-employed has allowed me to do this and having a team that supports me means that I don't have to loose income by spending this time with her. Being from a corporate background I knew that staying in an employed role this would have never have been possible without having to take a dramatic cut in salary. Being self employed means i can work the hours i want and work from any location. I can still take calls on these days and my clients and my team know I'm a working mum and they love it. The entire team are working parents which is why we all know how crucial it is to have support whilst building a business. If you are thinking about taking the jump do reach out. Unlike most brokerage firms Kestrel Estates offers the back office support to allow you more time freedom and is actively taking on agents in West and South Yorkshire. #hiring ##estateagents #selfemployedagents #property

To all my hardworking professionals out there, let me let you in on a little secret: you can build a business while working your full-time job. In this picture, you see a multi-site property manager, a project manager, a full-time government employee, and a medical professional. We’re all moms with busy lives. Who would have thought we’d be taking kid free vacations and flying first class. I built my business while working my corporate job and was fortunate enough to walk away when the time was right. I would still be working if jobs were more flexible for single mommas. Together, we’ve helped over 500 families position themselves for financial freedom—all while they continue working their full-time jobs. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with supplementing your income. If you’re looking for a way to bring in extra money without disrupting your current schedule, message me directly. Let’s talk about an opportunity that could change your life the way it changed mine. 💼✨ #FinancialFreedom #WorkingProfessionals #SideHustleSuccess #BuildingABusiness #WealthyVibeTribe

Less than a month left before we fly to Queensland. A month is a typical notice period, and certainly seems the norm in Australia, and now I am in my final four weeks I’m struck by how little time that feels. It doesn’t seem long enough for all the tasks required when someone leaves a job. Recruitment teams are under pressure in that time frame so rarely is someone handing over to a new recruit, which affects continuity. I’m mindful that l’m leaving not a company (my business will move with me), but rather we are leaving a country. Thus there are so many more tasks to carry out. The packing continues, as does the sale of a lifetime of possessions. It is expensive moving house, so we are trying to sell what we can to support the move fund. But how hard it is to flog off your stuff? Very! Local online market places are a hellscape of wannabe Delboy Trotters who say they want to buy your £150 item for £40, then they never turn up for it. Or they turn up and only have £10 on them for the agreed £20 item. Even things offered for free are subject to bargaining. I guess I thought with a cost of living crisis people would want quality items at bargain prices but alas it seems the tip will be our beneficiary, if the charity shops cannot take it all. When people only have four weeks left in a job, is there enough time to sort and pass on the good stuff? When they leave, IT will dump a working lifetime of files and emails. Paperwork will be heading straight to the shredder, unsorted. And everyone realises how disposable our working lives really are. Little wonder loyalty is transient. Whilst 100 days has felt too long for notice, a month feels way too short. Thus I encourage you to look at your notice periods and ask yourself what activities are you expecting exiting employees to achieve. Then check if those things are appropriate and achievable in your timeline, alongside dealing with the emotion and practicalities of #LeavingWell for both the leavers and the stayers. Oh, and it's day 25/100 of my #LastHundredDays countdown, so erm, does anybody wanna buy some of my stuff? #LastHundredDays #LeavingWell #ExitInterviews #OffBoarding #EmployeeLifecycle #GoodbyeUK #HelloAustralia
