We are pleased to have secured planning permission from Newry, Mourne and Down District Council for 14 new apartments, all social housing, at Fairview Lane, Saintfield, on behalf of Cityside Developments Ltd. and Arbor Housing Association. By replacing derelict buildings with quality homes on the site’s existing footprint, the consented development will provide much-needed and sustainable social housing within an urban area. Future occupants will benefit from a wide range of existing amenities in Saintfield, with the town centre and onward public transport links a short walking distance from their front doors. This proposal was approved following engagement with Council planners and local elected representatives to incorporate design changes which enhance the overall scheme. We are pleased to announce that 1-3 Westbourne Grove has officially received planning approval. Concilio supported Valouran with the community engagement, working closely with local resients, businesses, and stakeholders to ensure that the development reflect the needs of the community. Through a series of public consultations, feedback sessions, and constructive discussions, we gathered valuable insights that have directly influenced the design and vision of 1-3 Westbourne Grove. Valouran's vision for 1-3 Westbourne Grove involves retaining and enhancing the existing facade, while constructing a new building behind it with combined floorplates, including a pub on the ground and basement levels, and high-quality residential units above. Additionally, they plan to deliver public realm improvements and incorporate environmental sustainability features into the refurbishment to enhance the local area. Work to begin on city’s new Riverside Park 🌳 An ambitious project to transform swathes of land spanning both sides of the River Wear into a new city centre park is set to get underway. Esh construction has been appointed by Sunderland City Council to lead on the first phase of Riverside Park, situated at the heart of #RiversideSunderland. One of the UK’s largest urban regeneration projects, Riverside Sunderland is a multi-billion-pound project breathing new life into the city’s former industrial heartland. Covering 13.7 hectares of parkland and 5.3 hectares of river, Riverside Park, which comprises Galley’s Gill, Kingsley Gardens, Lambton Riverside and Wearmouth Riverside, will be delivered in several phases as the wider regeneration progresses. Phase one will include the creation of the new park entrance, which will be situated at the southern end of Galley’s Gill, between the Riverside multi-storey car park and the new Eye Hospital. The area includes new ponds and landscaping that will provide attractive and interactive social spaces and a variety of flora and fauna that will increase biodiversity and natural habitat. These are amazing examples of what can be done to deliver social housing - rather than trying to squeeze private sector suppliers of homes to deliver, reducing their output - let's find a way to get public/private finance to build places like the ones featured in this fantastic article.

A new sustainable complex in Chermside, featuring 34 social and affordable homes, will soon welcome its first tenants! This development was delivered through our $2 billion Housing Investment Fund (HIF), in partnership with BHC Creating Liveable Communities and QIC. Ultralinea Architecture designed the six-storey complex with eco-friendly homes and community facilities to foster strong community connections. It offers: - 28 one-bedroom and six two-bedroom apartments - an alfresco rooftop and ground-floor communal spaces - elevators powered by rooftop solar panels - rainwater collection and storage for garden maintenance. One home has been built to Platinum level and 31 to Gold level of the Livable Housing Design Guidelines. This ensures seniors and people with disability can live comfortably in a home that suits their needs with features like level thresholds, grab rails, wider doorways and hallways for mobility support devices. This HIF development is another example of our strong collaboration with community housing providers to provide homes for Queenslanders in need.

👍 We're going to review our regeneration plans for Devil’s Alley, an area of King’s Lynn’s historic riverfront, with the local community to shape a better and more ambitious design.  Devil’s Alley is a key part of wider Town Deal regeneration plans seeking to maximise the potential of the riverfront, creating more for people to see and do along the riverfront while protecting, respecting and preserving its unique heritage. This design review responds directly to recent community engagement, which showed people’s clear desire for further and bolder regeneration of the riverfront to maximise this under-used asset for residents, visitors and businesses. As well as revisiting the design with the community and other stakeholders, the review will also consider the potential for the project to be broadened to include a wider area of South Quay and connection through a riverfront corridor to Southgates, where further regeneration is already planned. Regenerating Devil’s Alley remains a priority and we all want to see on-site work start as soon as possible on a suitable scheme.
