Women are known for fashion, style and beauty display. They like to show off with their outstanding outfits as well as their confidence. Although it's a struggles to many other to boldly show off their real identity as they lack confidence in their selves due to the way they look, their body shape, tummy size, legs and even complexion. It is also important to say that women with excess fat particularly in the highly visible midsection area are not as confident as those who don't when they dress up. But I think it should not be a source of embarrassment. My personal experience was after a Cesarean Section, I noticed I had added extra pounds around the waistline which is as the result of childbirth but that doesn't make me a less beautiful person. However my confidence dropped because I was no longer the woman who had flat tummy and could show off. It took me months to build up my self confidence again. I had to pull myself out from being shy, afraid of wearing some pattern of clothing, unhappy about my body. This experience, thoughts turned made most of my favourite outfits to my biggest nightmare. But there is always an easy solution to every simple problem thus these are some of the tricks from the fashion guru on how to hide belly fat while you slay with your body con outfit and build your confidence. Rule 1 Avoid tight clothes to distract the eye. Choose fabrics and styles that have a bit more space and stretchy. Rule 2 Embrace dark colors for a slimming effect. Black, charcoal, navy, and brown create the illusion of a smaller frame while also hiding wrinkles and any pulling or bulging of fabric. Rule 3 Wear pants with a mid or high waistline to naturally hold your waistline. High-waisted styles will hug in any belly pooches. Avoid wearing a short jacket with high-waisted pants, which can create a boxy effect. Rule 4 Choose tops with draping, pleats, or frills to disguise excess fat. A shirt that has extra fabric and texture will trick the eye and hide the bulge around your belly. Rule 5 Use long sweater or jacket to create long lean lines, pulling the eye away from your belly and lengthening your appearance as the layers on a jacket or a cardigan to cover up belly fat. Most women only wear 20% of their wardrobe 80% of the time? Or maybe you always feel as if you have nothing to wear, but actually you have a wardrobe full of clothes - but nothing inspires you. It's not a lack of clothes that causes this issue, it's an excess. A pair of quality jeans in a blue shade (my fav is indigo) A classic jumper made of natural fibres (wool, merino wool, cashmere) A plain t-shirt in a neutral shade Quality handbag in a neutral shade A pair of leather boots A trench coat & classic blazer/jacket A dress that can be dressed up or down A great fitting classic style shirt (I love a stripe) Good underwear that supports and smooths. Spend as much as you can afford and consider the price per wear as the justification for spending a little more on better quality pieces. Next time you head off to the stores in search of jeans take some time to think of your needs in the following areas. WAIST/RISE HEIGHT Do you need to hide your tummy, elongate your legs or lengthen your torso, or something else? The right waist height (AKA Rise) is a great place to start. STYLE Wide leg, straight leg, skinny or bootcut, each result in a different look and some are better than others when it comes to flattering certain body shapes. BUTT VIEW Pockets range from large to small, are placed from high to low and spaced wide to close. Depending on the shape and size of your derriere packets can flatter, flaunt, or exaggerate size and shape. STRETCHY or FIRM? Stretchy jeans are super comfy and compliment many body shapes. However, if you have a large tummy, firm jeans though not as comfy will be more flattering. COLOUR There's a whole world of colour beyond blue and each colour will change your image and apparent size. Light blue denim is casual and youthful while dark denim is dressier and more slimming.
