Can High Humidity Disrupt Pollen Shed in Corn? This is a question that I got in 2023. Theoretically yes, but the actual likelihood of this happening is a little harder to pin down. I tackle this question on Page 114 of the Pioneer Agronomy Book. https://lnkd.in/gS4ikktH

Introduction to the Plant Microbiome on Page 91 of the Pioneer Agronomy Book – admittedly a somewhat dry, academic title. But with the wave of new biological products on the market, it’s important to understand some of the basics of how plants and microbes interact. https://lnkd.in/gS4ikktH

Regional Phenotyping Lead, India at Corteva Agriscience|Drones|Proximal Sensors|Trait data collection|Data Analysis|Corn|Rice|Pearl Millet|High throughput data|Estimation sets|Corn Breeding|WAT testing|Product Knowledge|
Interestingly I have noticed the right side orientation in one of our testing fields last season while flying the drone for plot quality trait. Almost the entire fied have shown same pattern as shown in the right side picture, the right side orientation is very much helpful for V2 stage plot quality flights, with no overlapping of neighbour seedlings, therefore the PQ trait data quality will improve tremendously. Feeling nostalgic while looking at the below pictures.
Does Corn Seed Orientation in the Furrow Matter? I get this question every year. It’s one of those fascinating agronomic questions that so far has defied a conclusive answer. I review what we know on Page 16 of the Pioneer Agronomy Book. https://lnkd.in/gS4ikktH

The engineers need to build us crop scientist a planter capable of seed orientation so we can understand genetic x management x environment interactions. Seed orientation my have a fit in some management systems/environments but we won’t know until we can run experiments at scale.
