Today is commemorated as Women’s Equality Day. The 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote, was first introduced in 1878 but didn’t pass till June 4, 1919, and was ratified on August 18, 1920. This month is a reflection on the history of women’s suffrage and a celebration of women’s accomplishments. https://bit.ly/3cPePEM

Republican Leaders, including National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Richard Hudson, issue a warning against overly racist and sexual attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris. Addressing House Republicans, Hudson emphasized the importance of avoiding discussions about the Vice President's ethnicity or gender. The focus remains on concerns about winning over swing voters and moderate Republican voters, especially women, amid challenges posed by former President Trump's divisive rhetoric. The message underscores the need to navigate issues of race and gender respectfully in political discourse. #RepublicanLeaders #KamalaHarris #PoliticalDiscourse #RespectfulDialogue

Did you know that today, in 1848, the first Women's 👩Rights Convention was held in the United States? Organized by five women: Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Coffin Mott, Martha Coffin Wright, Mary Ann McClintock, and Jane Hunt. They discussed their lives and challenges over tea, then decided that they should write a list of demands concerning women. Written similarly to the Declaration of Independence, the Declaration of Sentiments included a list of sixteen demands to improve women's lives, including the right to an education, the right to own property, and the right to vote in public elections. Seventy-two years after the Seneca Falls Convention, the 19th Amendment was ratified by thirty-six states. It meant that United States, and individual states, could not deny the right to vote on the basis of sex. Don't squander what so many men and women worked so hard for - prepare to Vote. 1. Take the time to learn about the candidates 2and research any particular issues of concern you have. precinct 2. Check with your local Board of Elections to ensure you are registered to Vote and know the location of your precinct. 3. Watch for local county, city, and school board meetings that you can participate in. 4. Do your part! #vote #beheard

Today I take a deeper dive into the early vote to explore a curious phenomenon: If the GOP is turning in so many more early votes, why is the gender gap still so big, and what challenge does that present the Trump campaign? My write-up in replies below.

As we celebrate our nation's independence, let us remember that true freedom can only be achieved when all citizens, regardless of gender, can live without fear of violence or discrimination. This Independence Day, I wish for a nation where women's safety is a top priority, and strict laws are in place to punish crimes against them. Let us work together to create a society where women can live with dignity and respect! #78thIndependenceday🇮🇳 #WomensSafety #EqualRightsForAll #NoToGenderBasedViolence"
