We're going LIVE tomorrow night ONLINE Workshop - Tuesday 26 March, 19:00 - 20:00 AEST Join Bessie Hayes, Samantha Everard and the WAC (Jan Legg, Kristie Sheridan, @Nicolai Morris) for an evening of professional development Learn more and register via https://lnkd.in/g-TiV_iH The theme of the night is 'Integrating club and/or sport culture into your S&C programs' 🌟 'Becoming Ironclad – Insights into Mackay Cutters Rugby League' - Bessie Hayes (ASCA Associate L2) After having their most-losing season in club history, Mackay Cutters have embarked on solidifying their identity - away from losing. As a club, players and staff have embarked on a journey of understanding how they play and act in all aspects of their lives. The outcome was to Become Ironclad - unbreakable with the underpinning values taken on wholeheartedly. While words can be initially impactful, it's the measurement that holds the accountability. Becoming Ironclad will delve into how we have designed and measured these values in our physical performance domain. 🌟 'Growth of a Role and a Program: Lessons learned from an early career practitioner' - Sam Everard - ASCA Level 1 A career in High Performance Sport can sometimes feel like you are navigating the white water rapids for the first time - External pressures pushing you to follow the flow, skilful execution of moves to get where you need to go, and the need for adaptability to correct any misdirection from floating rather than focusing. Growth of a Role and a Program is a snapshot of Sam's journey so far, highlighting how culture shifts are a part of team growth and that personal philosophy plays a role in the direction of these shifts. https://lnkd.in/g-TiV_iH

Do you believe in participation trophies? While I understand the arguments that participation ribbons and trophies provide a sense of accomplishment and motivation, I feel giving a trophy simply for participating undermine the value of competition and hard work. I mean, doesn’t a trophy merely for participating (aka minimal effort) essentially foster a sense of entitlement? I also wonder how this participation trophy-for-everyone approach might impact us later as adults… I’m curious – what are your thoughts on participation trophies? What is your approach when it comes to recognition and rewards for your employees or even your kids? Share below! #recognition #participationtrophies

The event is June 6-8, but let's break that schedule down ⬇️ It's officially a three-day event, but check out the breakdown of what each day looks like commitment-wise. Thursday, June 6 - Trivia Competition at Naked River Brewing Co. from 5-8 PM - You'll only need to send 5 people to represent the company, although you're welcome to bring more to cheerlead/support/have some drinks Friday, June 7 - Bowling Competition at Spare Time from 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM - You'll send 5-10 people to represent the company on the bowling team. You can pick a time from 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM to stop by, whatever your team prefers. Saturday, June 8 - The Field Day Event at Finley Stadium and First Horizon Pavilion - Officially 7:30 AM - 4 PM - This is the day you want the entire company to come out. It's way more fun if you have everyone come out and stay/tailgate all day, but if you have employees who need to pop in and out, they are welcome to. Corporate Challenge is flexible so people can still participate even if they can't stay all day. It's also family-friendly - families are more than welcome to come out and support, although they cannot physically participate in the challenges.

Equity Release Advice Equity Release is a favourite topic in the personal finance world, but what is it all about? Equity Release is a plan available to home owners (with or without mortgages) who are over the age of 55. If the home is owned by a couple, the younger of the pair should be at least 55 years old. The plan is simple. These days it is commonplace for homeowners to have built up significant equity in their properties. For the sake of this article; Equity = Value of property minus any mortgage outstanding. The homeowner can borrow, tax-free, from the equity. The older the borrower the greater will be the amount of equity that can be drawn down from the home. How do you calculate equity release? To calculate the maximum loan available on an equity release plan, you require the age of the youngest homeowner and the property value. Plans start from age 55 when you can release around 22.5% of your properties value. On average, on each birthday you can release an extra 1%, up to around 55%. We recommend seeking independent advice for anyone looking at the possibility of using Equity Release to raise cash. The money raised can be used for any legal purpose. Interest is added to the amount of equity accessed and this can be deferred until death or earlier admission to a care home. Alternately the borrower can make voluntary interest payments. We at Regents Court Financial, directly authorised by FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) in the UK, will take the borrower from start to finish They will receive all advice and information so that they can decide what is best for them. We will also advise if an alternative arrangement is more suitable to the client’s circumstances. Clients usually approach us by recommendation from friends, family and professionals including, financial advisers mortgage advisers, accountants, solicitors and others. Those interested should contact Regents Court Financial for a no charge consultation. Ron Warren (ron@regentscourtfinancial.co.uk) 01902 311381 Marketing Manager Regents Court Financial

(Just!) wrapped up another year judging this 2024's #resiawards and as much as I loved seeing the impact that some hugely exciting projects have created, I was once again disappointed to have to discount some entries as they did not respond to the judging criteria. Top tip when entering awards - read and respond to the criteria. Yes, prose and storytelling is important but make sure that you are responding to what you are being asked. Winning an award is a huge accolade but entering takes time, energy and money so if you want to give yourself the best chance of success, please. read. the. detail. #awards #judging #resiawards
I'm a delighted to be a judge at Resi Awards 2024, join me

You should celebrate a lot. You're not wasting time by doing it with your team. When you're celebrating, you're reminding your team that you are constantly winning. You will often see great football programs or businesses doing it. All because they get used to winning, and celebrating is a part of their victories. During these celebrations, you discuss the positive things in your business and life. It all helps create more winning and positivity.
