Help me to understand. If a technical skills evaluation is so important to your organizations hiring practices, why would you farm it out to an organization that doesn't speak the candidates language. I mean there is enough pressure to answer question in a timed environment without having to ask the inquisitor 5 times to repeat themselves so that you can dissect their accent. I just hung up on a promising Morgan Stanley role in Alpheratta GA. Now I understand why this role has been presented to me so many times in the three months I have been looking... "This role is for a Unix L3 specialist to the Unix Critinfra Support Team with the following responsibilities: Proving SRE Support to the Firm’s Critical Infrastructure (Oxygen Systems) in Follow-The-Sun model Provide On-call support, weekend project work Proactive health & hygiene tasks to maintain operational stability and compliance for risk & control programs to ensure the production environment is not put at risk. Collaborate with engineering teams to test and certify new hardware & software products. Engage with clients to understand business demand, needs & support during outage scenarios. Onboard new UNIX assets for growth or large programs such as new datacenter build outs."

Ok look, since I’ve now gotten 2x recruiters asking me about this same role (does no one else look at a job description and take a paragraph and straight up paste it into google? It works for finding leaked api tokens and where a docker image came from etc). Anyway, after sending me the job description, this guy tells me they’re offering $100k, I’m thinking “no way” so go and try to find other postings for the job. This is the first hit: https://lnkd.in/giCURd_T Then, this guy calls and sends me over the *same damn job description* I’d just looked up. He’s slightly better and wants to do $58/hr w2 ($111,360/year). I think I’m going to wait for the next person to contact me and see if they’ll offer $120… Actually, what I think I’m going to do is hunt down who works at that HR department and see if they actually want to talk or if they’re having fun playing all the head hunters off each other. (Given the succession of pings about the same job, idk if the Dice post is the original either - I think one of the descriptions I saw said it was for juniper - I’ll forward the emails if anyone wants - it’s the exact wording)
