Time: Immerse yourself in the passage of time as our stopwatch displays hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds (HH:MM:SS:ms). Each tick of the clock is a testament to the precision and elegance of our design. Buttons: Engage with the stopwatch through a series of intuitive buttons: Start/Play: Witness the stopwatch come to life with a simple click. As you initiate the timer, watch as the seconds, minutes, and hours seamlessly progress. Our button mechanics ensure a smooth transition between time increments, enhancing the user experience. Pause: Take a moment to pause and reflect. With this button, you have the power to halt the relentless march of time, allowing for a brief respite before diving back into the action. Lap: Capture moments in time with the Lap button. Mark significant milestones and watch as they are immortalized in the Time-lap area below. Each lap serves as a testament to the journey traveled and the progress made. Reset: In the pursuit of perfection, we offer the Reset button—a beacon of renewal and opportunity. With a single click, all values return to their pristine state, and the slate is wiped clean. Days 19 & 20 of 75 Hard Challenge Hey everyone! I know I haven’t posted updates in a couple of days because I’ve been incredibly busy. Let me share a little story about what’s been happening. The Unexpected Overload: A few days ago, I was hit with an unexpected whirlwind of opportunities. Out of nowhere, I received three potential offers at the same time. It was overwhelming. I didn’t know which direction to take, so I decided to pause everything else—going out, attending college, and even my usual routine. I needed to focus solely on my work and designs to make the best decision. The Interview: One of the opportunities required me to participate in an interview, but it wasn't your typical sit-down-and-answer-questions kind. This interview asked me to record my design process and teach some UI/UX concepts. I had to design a landing page from scratch, all within 45 minutes, and then edit the recording down to 26 minutes. It was challenging, but I managed to pull it off. This was my first experience doing something like this, and it was quite the learning curve. A Follow-Up from Across the Pond: As if that wasn’t enough, I got a follow-up on my application from a US-based agency. It was exciting to know they were interested, and I can't wait to share more updates about this opportunity soon. The One That Got Away: However, not all news was good. A company that had shown interest earlier needed an immediate designer. Despite our discussions, we didn’t match up with their requirements. They decided to move on, and so did I. It was a bit of a setback, but these things happen. A Pause on Backend Development: In the midst of all this chaos, I had to take a small break from learning backend development. I realized I needed to prioritize and manage my time better. That’s all for today! The past two days have been a rollercoaster, and I’m ready to tackle what comes next. Clearviction had a clear goal, to help others by giving them an opportunity to change their life. I joined because I wanted to make a difference as well as to grow my UI/UX design experience. I’m currently on my 10th month and I love the camaraderie and spirit of each volunteer that joins. I knew joining that I would stay long term and being on a volunteer schedule made it flexible to maintain my workload and full time job as well. I really appreciated that staff are understanding about my personal life and schedules. Has anything surprised you working at Clearviction (CV)? Human connection was what surprised me, I didn’t know we would all get to interact with each other so closely and my initial expectation was working with a tight knit team instead of dynamic teams. The weekly check ins definitely was hit/miss because I’m sure everyone is busy but the conversations I’ve had has expanded my library of literature, entertainment, and new things I’ve never heard. I feel that I’ve gained professional experience as well as ownership in tackling projects independently compared to my bootcamp that I’ve done on a more individual level. If you’re on the fence about joining CV, just take the dive, there is nothing to lose except the opportunity to meet awesome people and the chance to help those in need. ----

A holistic human-centered approach that acknowledges spiritual needs, along with our physical, mental, and emotional needs?”  - Vivianne Castillo at HmntyCntrd® For about 20 years, I have been investing in my Spiritual Self-Care, and I didn’t realize how critical it was for my professional UX career until two weeks ago when I got laid off and found Vivianne Castillo’s post “Why We Need to Talk About Spiritual Self-Care in UX.” Some people may have doubts about spiritual self-care, believing spirituality is always associated with religion. However, it's crucial to emphasize that spiritual self-care doesn't necessarily imply a religious faith. “Contrary to the “move fast and break things” mentality that our profession often encourages, spiritual self-care asks us to slow down, to sense and respond to the spiritual values that bring “a sense of perspective, meaning, and purpose” to our lives. More often than not, our spiritual values act as filters when we’re in the midst of challenging, painful, or difficult situations in the workplace or our personal lives and help us determine what makes us feel fulfilled in life beyond what can be gained materially.” - Vivianne Castillo My inbox flooded with amazing, heartfelt messages from coworkers admiring how I handled the whole layoff process so gracefully with optimism, looking forward to new opportunities, and no anger or negative remarks. I’m not going to lie. Being laid off hurts. It’s a grieving process that nobody should ignore or pretend is not happening.
