This is one reason why I LOVE what I do. I remember the first time Joshua and I discussed the amazing concept he'd come up with for his new business venture; a best-in-class eatertainment concept that would expand upon the offerings of current competitors, and raise the bar to new/uncharted standards. It would be a new way to "ke'nekt" people, emphasizing social connectivity as being just as important, if not more so, than the games and activities it featured.
This conversation occurred some time in the second half of 2020... just think about how that must have landed with me at the time. It was smart, well thought out, ambitious, and totally believable, but it was also a time of great uncertainty, especially for concepts emphasizing togetherness. But here we are.
I'm not at all surprised that Your 3rd Spot™ Social Dining is now a highly-acclaimed and award winning business. There's a whole team of individuals who I know put their blood sweat and tears into this. That said, I'm incredibly excited for Josh and his team for this recognition. I'm also excited for the whole family and team at Selig Enterprises, Inc. for believing in the concept, moving mountains to help make it happen, and for everything they've done to make #TheWorksATL such an incredible place to spend time each and every day.

It's crazy to see what startups can accomplish in a short period. Although we are backed by industry experience, there were numerous times when we were stuck with a lot of things. And the only attitude with which we moved forward was "don't know how but I will get it done." Everyone did everything irrespective of their roles, and that has helped the company to slowly stabilize itself. We are still growing and I'm extremely grateful to be here and to be a part of this journey. The learning definitely doesn't stop here and so do we!

From our humble beginnings with 4 founding members and merely a staff of 20, we have grown significantly. We now boast a team of 176 dedicated individuals who work relentlessly throughout the day to provide unmatched hospitality services to our clients. Our journey began with only 3 F&B outlets, and we have since expanded to 18 individual F&B establishments. Initially serving just one client, we are now proud to work with four remarkable clients. This is a quick post, as we are disembarking from our cruise this morning.
I spent the last week on a Royal Caribbean Group cruise ship. We visited Costa Maya, Roatan, and Cozumel.
Every evening dining experience in the main dining room and specialty dining ended in the same way. The waiter literally begging us for a 10 on the survey after the cruise.
It was very off-putting and I'll ensure I let Royal Caribbean know this.
This is an example of how a measurement can drive bad behavior. Employees begging for a 10 out of 10 on a rating instead of focusing on delivering a 10 experience.
