Today's topic: Keep an eye on every movement at all times 👀 - Our camera inspection systems and the "IVII" testing process With the help of artificial intelligence and advanced camera technology, camera inspection is taken to a new level. The "IVII" system detects deviating or faulty deliveries and complaints can be avoided. Each time a tray is checked, it is determined what should be in it and what is actually in it. Labels are also read using OCR recognition, saving us from manual inspection and minimizing incorrect deliveries. This ensures the security of supply for our customers. As we have implemented the technology ourselves in our systems, we can use it for different processes such as incoming goods and order picking. We also use camera inspection systems for bin size detection. Our software uses edge and pattern recognition to generate a 3D image to check whether the correct bin is in use. All information about the dimensions of packaging units is also passed on to our robots so that the goods can be packed and picked correctly. Curious? Another promising article about AI integration in manufacturing. In fact, just yesterday I attended MetalForming Magazine's Live on the Floor webinar and asked the panel what non-robotic automation they are most excited about in the future. The answer was in data reporting as a tool for operations to use in reporting on quality, productivity, and maintenance. Additionally, the installation of cameras around robotic equipment allows for review of faults, a task that AI might one day be able to take on. Stephan Mayer, CEO for Machine Tools at Trumpf expressed the same, emphasizing AI's role in efficient data evaluation, error detection, and production automation. Here are the applications they listed: 1. Preventive Maintenance: AI monitoring machine parameters to predict and notify maintenance needs before failure. 2. Quality Control: AI assisting in the inspection of products via cameras. 3. Report Generation: AI composing various reports based on collected data. 4. Operational Efficiency: AI improving task automation. 5. Unattended Operations: AI determining the feasibility of running parts without human supervision.
