The higher industrial camera resolution the better? When it comes to industrial cameras, resolution plays a crucial role in imaging quality, but it's not the sole determining factor. Higher resolution typically means capturing finer details, which is indispensable in precision analysis and measurement tasks essential to industries like quality control, defect detection, and dimensional measurement. However, imaging quality is influenced by multiple factors beyond resolution alone. Factors such as sensor quality, lens precision, optical system design, image processing algorithms, and even display resolution all contribute significantly. Even with high resolution, shortcomings in these areas can potentially compromise overall imaging performance. Therefore, choosing an industrial camera requires a balanced consideration of resolution alongside these critical factors. Tailoring the choice to specific application needs ensures optimal imaging performance and quality. #microscope #innovation #microscopy #digitalmicroscope #electronicinspection #visualinspection #electicalmeasurement #electronicsoldering #PCBinspection #SMTinspection #ICtesting #Weldinginspection #digitalcameras #industrialcameras #resolution #electrialengineering #imagetechnology #electronicrepairing #opticalinspection #microscopesystems #camerastechnology #metrology #precisioneuqipment #scientificinstrument #industrialmicroscope #industrialinspection

The imaging quality of different industrial lenses varies greatly, even for the same type of industrial lens. This is mainly due to factors such as material, processing accuracy, and lens structure, which also result in huge differences in the price of industrial lenses of different grades from hundreds to tens of thousands of yuan. Famous examples include four elements in three groups Tessar lenses and six elements in four groups double Gaussian lenses. For lens design and manufacturing manufacturers, the optical transfer function (OTF) is generally used to comprehensively evaluate the imaging quality of the lens. The optical system transmits information about the spatial distribution of brightness. When the optical system transmits information about the subject, the sine wave signals of various spatial frequencies transmitted are functions of spatial frequency, and the modulation and phase changes when forming the actual image are all functions of spatial frequency. This function is called the optical transfer function. OTF generally consists of two parts: modulation transfer function (MTF) and phase transfer function (PTF). ❔ How does lens imaging work? ⏩ Lens is the most basic optical element that makes up the optical system of a microscope. Objectives, eyepieces, condensers and other components are all composed of single or multiple lenses. According to their appearance, they can be divided into two categories: convex lenses, also known as positive lenses, and concave lenses, also known as negative lenses. ✅Convex lens: thick in the middle and thin at the edge, there are three types: biconvex, plano-convex, and concave-convex; ✅ Concave lens: thin in the middle and thick at the edge, there are three types: biconcave, plano-concave, and convex-concave. ⏩ When a beam of light parallel to the main beam passes through a convex lens, it is compared to a point, which is called the "focus". The plane passing through the focus and perpendicular to the optical axis is called the "focal plane". There are two focal points. The focus in the object space is called the "object focus", and the focal plane there is called the object focal plane. On the contrary, the focus in the image space is called the image focus, and the focal plane there is called the image focal plane. 🔴 Lenses can be widely used in various fields such as security, car-mounted, digital cameras, lasers, optical instruments, etc. With the continuous development of the market, lens technology is becoming more and more widely used. Lenses are made according to the law of refraction of light. Lenses are an optical element made of transparent materials (such as glass, crystal, etc.). Lenses are refractors, and their refractive surfaces are two spherical surfaces (a part of a spherical surface), or a spherical surface (a part of a spherical surface) and a flat transparent body. The images it forms are both real and virtual. #optics #lenses #opticalindustry #opticalfiber #opticalcoating

Depth of field is one of the important factors affecting the imaging quality of industrial lenses. The depth of field determines the clear range of the subject before and after the lens, directly affecting the clarity and recognition accuracy of the image. When the depth of field is too small, the clear range of the subject will decrease, and only a part of the object will be clearly imaged, while other parts will become blurry. This can lead to a decrease in detail recognition and measurement accuracy of the image. When the depth of field is too large, the clear range from the lens to the subject will be too large, which may cause optical problems such as curved image planes and blurred edges. These issues can lead to a decrease in image contrast and resolution, affecting imaging quality. Different industrial lenses have different optical properties and depth of field ranges. When selecting industrial lenses, it is necessary to choose the appropriate lens according to the requirements of the actual application scenario. In 3D optical profiling, it seems like there's an “alphabet soup” of measurement modes. Smooth surface? That’s one mode. Rougher surface? That's another. But today’s systems are smarter, and they can make choosing the measurement mode a lot easier. In this post we’ll look at some basic measurement modes as well as some of the latest smart algorithms. https://lnkd.in/gRFmBRqy #measurement #measure #metrology Michigan Metrology Bruker Nano Surfaces & Metrology

In machine vision systems, the lens plays a crucial role as an optical component, which can convert object information into digital images and output them to subsequent algorithm processing. The imaging principle of machine vision lenses is to use a lens group to refract and focus the light emitted by the object onto the imaging surface, so that the information of the object is digitized into image data. When an object emits light to illuminate at the entrance of the lens, the light will pass through the aperture and enter the lens group, undergo refraction and reflection, and finally focus on the imaging surface.
