New synthetic cannabinoids, based upon chemical modifications of Delta 9-THC, are becoming more prevalent in the illicit drug supply. Some changes, such as modifications to the alkyl chain, have significant impact on receptor binding and extending psychoactive effects. As many of these compounds are isobaric and isomeric forms, resolution and identification of these compounds with traditional techniques is difficult if not, impossible. Si Huang et al have recently published their work as Open Access in Analytical Chemistry (https://lnkd.in/g4zvZezr) where they use ion mobility and a Waters Cyclic IMS to resolve and identify some of these compounds in cannabis extracts and edibles. #LCMS4Forensics

🌍 💊 Last Tuesday, I had the privilege of attending the 3rd ICCPC International Conference on Contemporary Pharmacy Challenges, where I gained valuable insights into the latest trends in the pharmaceutical field.
