The USDA’s Powering Affordable Clean Energy (PACE) Loan Program supports renewable energy projects by making it easier for rural communities to take advantage of renewable energy. These PACE loans finance large-scale projects such as our utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage systems, and they are typically awarded to communities with populations of 20,000 or fewer. As part of the PACE program, loans are partially forgivable, effectively writing off a portion of the loan amount for the local utility. The $30 million in PACE program funding we recently received for our Nebraska solar projects includes a forgiveness component, and the loan will be used to reduce the cost of power in those communities. That means we're passing all savings to ratepayers in Alliance, Ansley, Crete, Gering, Imperial, Pender, Sidney, and Stuart.

Downing Renewables & Infrastructure Trust PLC  said it had started exclusive discussions to sell its interest in the Gabrielsberget wind farm in Sweden. The offer price is at a small premium to the carrying value as of 30 June 2024 with the transaction anticipated to be completed in this year’s fourth quarter with a return equal to 14% of NAV. DORE purchased Gabrielsberget in January 2022 for a total consideration of £19.8 million, with a subsequent 50% uplift on the investment as at 30 June 2024. Sale proceeds will be used to fund further growth and re-investment in the company's hydropower portfolio, said the statement. Downing Renewables & Infrastructure Trust PLC (LSE:DORE) said it was "pleased" with the progress of its revenue optimisation programme as it unveiled two positive updates. The first involved the Mersey Reactive Power shunt reactor, acquired in June last year. A renegotiated contract with the National Grid is expected to increase DORE’s annual revenue by approximately £300,000, a 30% boost for the remaining nine years of the contract. In Sweden, DORE’s Gottne hydropower plant has begun earning revenue after pre-qualifying for the Frequency Containment Reserve markets (FCR-N and FCR-D) on July 5. Downing Hydro AB, DORE’s Swedish subsidiary, is also seeking approval for another hydropower plant to join the FCR-D market, with plans to expand this initiative to more sites.
