Recently, our team at Drata had a lively debate on the best Nicholas Cage movies. 🎥 (this one’s for you Sophia Hatef) It reminded me of the iconic Face/Off - a tale of two characters literally swapping faces and lives. While we're not going to that extreme, it sparked an intriguing thought: what if we switched roles at work? If you're the pilot of the rocket ship, how about being a crew member for a day? As actors, I think many of us really struggle with being able to articulate what makes us unique which makes us unsure of how to market ourselves and network in a way that’s truly effective which leads to fewer opportunities to audition and an acting career that lacks momentum - at least this used to be true for me. Deep down, most of us know that we‘re missing something essential but often we feel overwhelmed, don’t know where to start, and we lack confidence when it comes to taking action because we don’t want to offend anyone. But, in the end, the thing we truly desire is authentic relationships with people who have the power to cast us so that we have more opportunities to better roles and have control over the trajectory of our careers.
