👓Last month, I got to try out “Contraptions” in preparation for Niantic Lightship’s #gdc2024 demo activation. It was super wicked to wear the A3 Lenovo Glasses, see the real-world around me, move a digital object around the physical space, and have another player see my actions in real-time. The thing about #augmentedreality is that sometimes you feel crazy if you’re the only one that can see the thing! Humans are meant to share experiences together, AR is no different. ✨Nothing can match the joy of simply spectating groups and groups of players cooperatively solving the game together! It’s an amazing feeling when multiplayer works well in AR, then combine that with #VPS to anchor content and colocalize players and an HMD?! Wow!!! 👏Big big kudos to both the Niantic, Inc. Tiger Team and Qualcomm Snapdragon Spaces folks on this amazing collaboration, pushing the capabilities of #mixedreality #spatialcomputing.

It was during this year that the first handheld cellular mobile phone was invented and introduced to the market. This groundbreaking invention was manufactured by Motorola, a leading telecommunications company. Martin Cooper, known as the "father of the handheld cellphone," played a crucial role in its creation. Cooper, who co-founded several communications companies, invented the first handheld cellular mobile phone while working at Motorola in the 1970s. In 1983, he made history by being the first person to make a public mobile phone call using a handheld device. 📱🚀
