The Procurement Manager cannot influence geopolitics. Nor can they force a large-scale return of container ships to the Red Sea. But they can use data to provide internal scrutiny and re-assurance of freight spend and risk management. Hear from Peter Sand about how procurement professionals can manage ocean container shipping budgets in an age of intense geo-political turmoil and uncertainty: https://lnkd.in/eKBD4Tij We also invite you to join Thorsten Diephaus, VP of Strategic Alliances at Xeneta and Dylan Alperin, VP of Professional Services at Keelvar, on September 3rd as they share their top tips for: > Securing the best rates; > Outperforming the competition; and, > Simultaneously enhancing capacity while minimizing risk. “Where on earth are our stocks today?” 😱 Supply chain’s stressful maze is a major concern for shippers: they need to know where exactly their goods are, at any time. Recent turmoil - Panama drought, Baltimore bridge collapse, Red Sea crisis, to name a few - have highlighted how crucial risk management can be for any activity involving shipping goods. Supply chain teams of a global company with offices in multiple continents can no longer work with emails and Excel sheets! They need centralized, fully up to date and accessible data in real time. Accurate container tracking enables them to cope with risks that cannot be 100% neutralized, but can be mitigated if properly anticipated. That’s one of the reason why OVRSEA has been flourishing for years: offering companies a solution to track their supply chain’s pulse📍, optimize costs📉 and monitor their activities 🗺️ All the value is here: providing key information in real time on transported goods 👉 Ongoing shipments associated to a specific product (purchase order management) 👉 Actual shipped quantities of a determined SKU 👉 Live updates ETAs and delivery dates Thanks to this vision, companies can better manage their stocks, avoid surpluses/shortages and optimize their supply chain. #strategy #businesstool #supplychain

Building Logistics & Supply Chain Teams Globally through 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥𝙨. 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙨. | Executive Head Hunter
𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙚𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙩 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚 𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙨. I wanted to explore the conflict through the lens of the logistics industry. Shipping rates have significantly increased (some spot rates have tripled compared to November 2023), specifically for the Asia-Europe tradelane that has been re-routed to transit past the Cape of Good Hope, but also the Asia-East Coast US tradelane that has been utilizing the Suez Canal as an alternative to the Panama Canal. The surge in recent rates has attracted an increase in shipping stock investors, which definitely leaves a bad taste in the mouth given the awful situation. Does anyone else feel like the logistics industry is being used as a modern warfare tactic? If that is the case, how can we future proof the industry from being used in this way? Ultimately, it's the consumer that pays the price. Or perhaps the industry might play a pivotal role in finding a solution within the conflict, a good negotiating power.
