Any guesses what this map shows? 🔍 You'll have to read on for the answer! This is one of many maps we make using GIS software, and it's definitely one of the more straightforward ones! The software can be used for simple maps but, if you're one of the GIS geniuses in our team, then you can use multiple datasets layered on top of each other to create complex landscape scale analyses 👩🏽💻 For example, when we're identifying priority woodland sites (hint hint 😉), we can combine data on existing woodland cover, existing land use, rainfall levels, overland flow paths, topography, water quality, wildlife populations, human populations, accessibility, public rights of way, and human health- and this is just the tip of the iceberg.
