Here is another milestone the City of Norwalk reached in 2024 to improve our students’ quality of life.
In 2024, the City of Norwalk made a significant investment in our students’ future by prioritizing the improvement of heating and cooling systems at six more schools across the City by securing State and City funding. The schools include Brien McMahon High School, Brookside Elementary School, Marvin Elementary School, Naramake Elementary School, Rowayton Elementary School and Silvermine Dual Language Magnet School.
Thanks to City funding and a $21 Million State grant, this major upgrade will create optimal, equitable learning environments for our students, maximizing their success.
Since 2018, the City has also invested capital funding into upgrading HVAC systems at several other schools, including Cranbury Elementary School, Jefferson Marine Science Elementary School, Kendall College and Career Academy, Nathan Hale Middle School, Roton Middle School and Ponus Ridge School Campus.
In 2025, the City is also looking forward to opening a new state-of-the-art South Norwalk school next fall and continuing construction on the new Norwalk High School, which is projected to welcome students in the Fall of 2027. #CityofNorwalk #NorwalkPublicSchools #StudentSuccess #2024
