📍Glad to share the completion of my Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification course by Save a Life Certifications by NHCPS, with 8.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). Having specialised skills in life-saving interventions for neonatal and pediatric population is necessary considering anatomical and physiological difference among adults and children, need for adjusting drug dosages and smaller equipment sizes such as masks, airways devices and defibrillator pads. There is also a significant communication difference requiring effective verbal and body languages for this patient category. Learning how to navigate through these unique attributes, healthcare providers can make a difference between life and death for pediatric patients. With prompt decision-making, resuscitation techniques, I am eager apply these expertise to contribute in paediatric emergency medical care!

The Agency for Healthcare Research and quality (AHRQ) states that, "The simulated setting allows participants to make mistakes safely, and to learn from these mistakes while avoiding patient harms that might otherwise occur." Competence and confidence in the medical field leads to safe patient care. ECMO Advantage engages teams in high-fidelity #ecmo #simulations to ensure patient safety is front and center in this complex medical environment. #ecmo #ecls #simulationtraining #physician #nurse #respiratorytherapist #perfusionist #patientsafety
The effects of high-fidelity simulation education on anxiety and confidence should not be under estimated... A 2021 study confirmed that medical students need to be repeatedly exposed to simulation education experiences in order to have a sense of psychological stability and perform with confidence in a clinical setting. https://lnkd.in/eZmt_2We The same could be said of just about any clinician, especially when there may be gaps between occasions when specialized knowledge and skills are utilized. I’m excited 🌟 to share that I have completed the Fire Safety training as part of my preparation for my upcoming placement in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. Here’s what I learned: • Fire Alarm Protocols: When the fire alarm sounds, the first step is to break the glass of the alarm. It’s crucial that fire alarm devices remain unobstructed to effectively detect smoke. • Using Fire Extinguishers: I learned the proper way to use a fire extinguisher: aim at the base of the fire, sweep side to side, and ensure you have a clear escape route. • Evacuation Procedures: I discovered how to evacuate patients using a P50 bed sheet, ensuring their face is facing forward and their head is well-supported, with their legs moved first and evacuated. This technique minimizes the risk of harm to the patient’s head and ensures a safe exit from the building. This training has significantly enhanced my knowledge of safety protocols in healthcare settings, and I look forward to applying these skills during my placement! Stay tuned for more updates as I continue to share my learning journey! 😊 #FireSafety #HealthcareTraining #PatientSafety #NHS #ObstetricsAndGynaecology #ClinicalExperience

It’s a great course! A better understanding of the lymph system. How lymph fluid flows, impeding factors. Etc. All contribute to how better management.
“I came to this course with minimal understanding of Lymphedema and what is involved to treat it. I walked away with a wealth of knowledge, confidence, resources, and a true understanding on how to help my future patients, so thank you for this.” “Thank you so much for your wonderful teaching techniques during this class. You were able to make a rather complex system understandable. I can't wait to get back to work and use this knowledge you have taught. It was like no other course I had taken before and by far the best course yet.” “This course was excellent, the course material was challenging and helped me to excel by pushing me to go above and beyond my comfort zone in many areas. I highly recommend this course as it covers this material in depth. I feel truly prepared to care for lymphedema patients.” Join us for an upcoming course! . . . #acols #lymphedema #manuallymphdrainage #lymphedemamanagement #lymphaticdrainage #completedecongestivetherapy #education #getcertified #nursing #occupationaltherapy #physicaltherapy

Teaching the importance of team dynamics for management of a CODE secondary to a GI bleed 🩸 caused by esophageal varices during simulation… ☑️ Conduct assessment of the patient according to complaints to promote RN-patient communication ☑️ Create rectal bleed w/ ground coffee + pseudo blood to increase fidelity ☑️Promote efficient ACLS with use of stool + backboard for effective compressions and provide real time feedback ☑️Encourage standard of care for management of esophageal varices to prevent further deterioration Most healthcare students will not have experienced a CODE until they are in the actual clinical setting… Simulation enables real time feedback of chest compressions and allows students to work cohesively to manage the emergency 🚨 It was a great day & proud of the BMCC nurses in their final semester … #simulation #moulage #nursingexcellence

Don't miss this FREE educational webinar. Join us in exploring the benefits of prehospital blood sampling. In today's fast-paced world, every second counts, especially in critical situations where prompt medical intervention and precision💻. Blood sampling is a regularly performed medical procedure that requires a high degree of precision. However, the specific details of this process have received limited attention. To address this issue, representatives from EUSEM, European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM), and European Society for Emergency Nursing (EUSEN) have formulated recommendations utilising evidence-based methodology to publish guidelines to prevent errors.
