With its status as one of the fastest growing and most popular international standards in the world, an ever-increasing number of organisations are looking to implement and certify against ISO 27001 for the first time. While almost every organisation that embarks upon an ISO 27001 certification or conformance project will come up against its own unique challenges, certain mistakes and pitfalls regularly appear throughout each stage of the implementation and certification process, many of which can be easily avoided. When certifying/recertifying to ISO 27001, one of the first things you will need to consider is your interested parties and their requirements. In order to achieve and maintain conformance to the Standard, you will need to determine who your interested parties are, identify their relevant requirements, establish which of these will be addressed through your information security management system (ISMS) and communicate any relevant information to them. When certifying or transitioning to ISO 27001:2022, you will also need to make ongoing considerations of the changes to these requirements. Rant is ISO27001 certified! After six months of hard work on our Information Security Management System (ISMS), we are delighted to announce that we have achieved ISO 27001:2022 certification. It’s been a big effort for the whole team, and we’ve learned a lot along the way. Our experience was not so much about completely new processes – we were already developing applications in a secure way – but more about improving and consolidating our documentation and record keeping, and making sure we were taking care of every aspect of security - from building security to safely disposing of old machines. With robust processes in place and a suite of policies and controls that will ensure sensitive data is protected, our partners can be confident that the security of their applications is one less thing to worry about. #InformationSecurity #ISO27001 #ISOCertification
