Last week, we had the largest event for Market Data and Financial Information, WFIC 2024, in Austin, Texas. This exclusive conference for FISD members brought together over 700 professionals in one place, significantly reducing the need for multiple business trips, as we were able to meet in person and discuss key industry issues. This was my seventh WFIC, as TAURA Consultoria e Representações representing FISD in Latin America, and it was fantastic to reconnect with colleagues from around the world and get updated on market trends, with a strong emphasis on AI in the market data space. I was especially pleased to see a strong presence from LATAM, with many expressing their appreciation for the event, calling it a must-attend, and already planning for the next one. Some feedback I heard after the event included: -'Meeting face-to-face with people you’ve known for years over the phone really strengthens relationships, especially after WFIC. -'The roundtables were a highlight, offering the chance to dive deeper into topics in smaller, more focused groups. - The long coffee and lunch breaks were also a great feature, allowing for natural and productive networking. - WFIC is an excellent opportunity to stay informed about the latest trends in market data, discover new solutions, and position yourself as an early adopter in your local market. - It’s a chance to connect with all the key players in the market data industry in one location, eliminating the need for travel across various regions.
