People rely too much on luck when driving on our roads. They don't invest in correct training and development, the end result is a confusing collision. People will say "I had a crash and it wasn't my fault". Be that as it may, could you have avoided that crash if you knew how? Our philosophy is that we don't want to crash, regardless of who is at fault, this requires a specific defensive approach to driving and keeping safe. This isn't generally taught during learner driver training as the focus is on passing the test. Assuming drivers know how to Steer Safely is a poor strategy regarding driver safety, the only way to be sure is to have a driver training plan that ensures a minimum standard. This should form part of your WHS strategy and should not be overlooked, especially with workplace manslaughter laws now in place, you could be held accountable. CEO | Author | Researcher | Senior Coach | Effective Education Reduces Crash Risks | a Disability is NOT a Disabler @idrivesafety |
What Is the greatest failing in road safety 1-the focus on Learners completing hours and not a focus on performance based outcomes 2- being told you have been successful after passing a test that does not measure success against a performance based outcome. 3- training hour after hour and many up to 120 hours and none of the training practicing a safe manageable process

Having interracted with many drivers during my trainings on Road Safety, I have come to the conclusion that two key areas are the most critical in addressing the challenges MINDSET TRANSFORMATION HAZARD PERCEPTION If we are able to actualize these fundamentals we can reduce road crashes in a great way #Scaledup +254722717968
